The food is great, and I had the privilege of tasting the Rasta Pasta during the 1st time it was ever served on the line. Even though the food is great, my conversation with the owner was even greater. She has a big heart. Any food that is left over after closing, she packs it up and hands it out to the homeless. On certain days, kids eat free. Even though the city gives her a hard time for helping the homeless, she continues to do God’s work. She understands that “life” happens to us all, and she looks out for God’s people who may be struggling at the moment. She’s hosting a TRUNK OR TREAT so that the local children will have a SAFE place to enjoy themselves this Halloween. Support this business, because they give back to the community in a plethora of ways.

Met my family for a back to school luncheon. The price was $20.00 per head, which I felt was a bit pricey. Payment is due at the door then you are seated. The restaurant has plenty of seating. Once seated drink choice is made and warm rolls and corn bread is brought to the table. The buffet is amazing. On the menu includes: turkey chop, smothered pork chops, collard greens, cabbage, green beans, beef liver in brown gravy, fried fish, chicken wings, pig feet, rice. Mac and cheese, regular salad bar, chicken salad, and potato salad and much more. They also have several desert tables. The staff is very attentive and refills your glass promptly while clearing the tables.

I live in North Carolina, I came to Norfolk for the Kat Williams show and stumbled across this hidden gem. I HATE! everybody food. This place right here (R-Kelly me) “It made me believe I can fly” listen, Read.. take my review seriously this place was everything you want for your dollar; exceptional waiters kept that table “CLEAN” drinks and services remain consistent the whole time. Now, the multiple TVs going was a lot. Nice vibe music would have worked for me (I don’t like a lot of vocal stimulation while I eat, so it could have just been me) Ms. Dee-Dee go see her beautiful lady! Yes, it’s worth it.

Was only in Portsmouth for a few hours. My Sister recommended this spot. Our Dad – a country boy at heart – was AMAZED and delighted. Food was delicious; loved the variety; staff and owners were attentive and very pleasant. Will definitely stop here again. Thank you for making our special day, even more special!

Great place to get that down home soul food for a great price. We stop by after church two or three times a month for take out and have been very pleased and satisfied with the consistency of seasoning and flavor of the meats and sides. We are travellers along the way. When it comes to soul food in the 757 this is the place to come too!

I was soon pleased to find Cooper’s Restaurant in portsmouh, It was disappointing when they moved from the Chesapeake location used to go there all the time with family, soo happy to come across their location, same wonderful buffet!!! And reasonable price, the staff was great!!! so nice, Levenia helpfulI with getting the buffet dinner to go, very nice atmosphere, definitely will tell my friends and family!!!

I decided to check this restaurant out after someone who works there referred it to me. I was very excited about the fried chicken because they assured me that it was very good. It was in fact very bland. Service was fine it was just the food.
