Coop’s is a decent choice for a casual eatery to try some common Cajun cuisines. The Coop’s plate we got had a variety of things – shrimp etoufee, cup of gumbo, rabbit and sausage jambalaya, fried chicken, and red beans and rice. The jambalaya was very delicious but everything else was just okay- wished the flavors were overall stronger and the rice better, but they do provide around 5+ hot sauces and condiments for you to utilize. We also got the market price fried seafood plate appetizer (which was $25 today) and I was left a bit wanting in terms of crispness and quantity for the price. The staff are very friendly though and the interior is cool and cozy with movies playing in the background!

A little hole in the wall with fantastic food and drinks. The bartender was friendly and efficient, and our dinners were delicious. We got “Coop’s taste plate” which included seafood gumbo (fabulous), fried chicken (juicy and delightful, perfectly cooked), red beans and rice (slightly under seasoned), rabbit jambalaya (quite good), and shrimp creole (adequate).

Overpriced! They gave me 7 tiny pieces of shrimp for 11$!! and I’m sure they skimped. The integrity of this place is absolute trash and the food is disgusting and has no flavor. All they did was make it spicy and watery. I really want to get my money back. I ate these shrimp because I just landed and was starving and threw the rest in the trash. The beans tasted literally like musty pits…best way to describe it. 50$+ was spent on 3 disgusting plates and 1 f them was this poor excuse for “shrimp appetizer”. I would’ve gotten more for my money at Popeyes.

This place came recommended from our swamp tour bus driver. And it didn’t disappoint. Just outside the French district, it’s a little “dive” bar with good food and prices that weren’t gouging. Their fried chicken burger and fries was excellent as was their deep-fried gator bites.

So, I don’t like seafood and that makes eating in Louisiana a little difficult. Of course, this place had great reviews and we checked it out. I had the blt with cheese and it was delicious. I’m recommending this to anyone that goes to New Orleans. The fried chicken was AMAZING (pictured in the back)

Ordered the sample plate. The chicken was outstanding! And definitely worth coming back for. Service was excellent. Beans and rice not the best. Jambalaya, shrimp creole were good and spicier than most we’ve tried.

The is literally a hole in the wall, but the food is amazing. Some of the best fried mushrooms I have ever had. Seafood sampler is amazing and fried crawfish is really good. Service was fast and friendly.

This place was the absolute BEST!! The server Dylan was amazing! Super knowledgeable and really friendly. He gave great recommendations as to order. Attentive and quick. The etouffe was marvelous and we also had the gumbo. Delightful. The other server (tall guy with a beard) was also awesome! He was making us laugh as we overheard him tending to another table. The overall experience and atmosphere was perfect. The food above excellent!
