My chef friend and I decided to grab dinner and planned a trip to Coperta to reminisce on how much we miss Italian food back home in New York. This spot exceeded the bar with subtle seasonal twists on Southern Italian classics, incredible (& unique) beverage selections, and a whole-heartedly genuine team of service professionals.

Pasta dishes here were decent but my biggest complaint was the over cooked calamari. Some of them were so chewy ugh

The Buck Choi was fantastic. I believe it was the special appetizer. Mocktails were delicious. We ordered the goat cheese ravioli and wood-fired king salmon. Both entrees were extremely salty. Hence, the 4 stars and not 5. The amount of salt took away from any other flavor. Our waitress was super kind and removed it from our bill. I am hoping the chefs will work on this, so we can have a better experience next time!

This meal was a special occasion for my partners birthday. We’ve been living in denver for 6 years and never been here. We’ve been to Rome and Italy 4 months prior to eating here. Coperta sparked our memories of being back in Rome and Florence. We got a complementary slice of pizza that we absolutely enjoyed. I told the waitress of how we got the similar pizza in a market in Venice. She immediately told us it is normally cut by scissors and we told her that’s how we got it. It was a great experience and flavors made us feel back in Italy again. We will definitely come back again. I gave less stars because we left and forgot our leftovers. We went back immediately and they were clearing and cleaning the table when we returned. They disposed of it less than 3 minutes. This is fabulous since they want to seat the next guests but sad because I wanted to enjoy the pork chops for lunch the next day. You must eat here! It’s absolutely deliciously fabulous!

An amazing restaurant with great atmosphere, service and food. Everything tasted amazing. I had the cacio e pepe and the pork chop. The pasta was delicious as expected, but the pork chop blew me away. The appetizers and dessert were also great. I don’t think you could go wrong with anything here.

Atmosphere: All they seem to play is rap or EDM, which is fine for a bar, not so fine for dinner. Atmosphere is for the patrons, not for the staff. Listening to bass heavy music makes me feel like I need to hurry, like in a grocery store, or start marching. which is unfortunate and bad for the digestion, unless you’re twelve….I’ve been here over the years. This atmosphere is a recipe for slow death, as evidenced by the reduced menu. Do what you want, but then expect to pay the price, if you’re wrong. The sound makes it difficult to relax, which is a pity, when there are so many more harmonious choices with food. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have to migrate to serving only small plates and alcohol after awhile. The theme is essentially FU. We’ll do what we like, business be damned. With centuries of restaurant experience in my family, I can say with confidence getting one variable wrong, can cripple your business.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The wine list was a little difficult to navigate unless you are familiar with lesser know Italian wines/regions, with the cheapest bottle being $57 (which I thought was pretty bad). The 3 pastas I tried (cacio e Pepe, rabbit sachettoni, and aglio e olio spaghetti) were all decent, but none really blew me away. The aglio e olio had a bunch of what looked like breadcrumbs in it, which I didn’t think belonged. The other two were just okay. Rabbit Sachettoni being maybe the most interesting one, with pickled mustard seeds adding a nice playful twist. I did also like how they offered smaller portions of the pasta so that you can try more variety. Overall the place was good, but for the money I might look elsewhere for higher end pasta centric Italian places.

Be warned, 23% gratuity added to bill brought out for a party of two! For service, we felt rushed as if someone wanted to go home or at a fast food place. Food was not something to go back for either. The flavorless eggplant was so over cooked that the skin was the only part that was not complete mush. It actually had an odd flavor to it that was not pleasing. Cacio e Pepe was flavorless, probably setting a record for the worst ever, lacking good Romano and black pepper. Such a disappointment from the experience to the food.

I work and travel extensively in Italy and this is the best Italian food experience I’ve had in the USA. It’s authentic with a hip twist. The restaurant design is so thoughtful and reminiscent of the older days, which is so Italy. Thank you. We will be back again and again and again.

Great Restaurant. I am Italian American and a pretty good cook so I normally don’t eat Italian out. This place is good.
