Finally had time to stop by and try this place and was not disappointed! I got the yellow rice plate with a vegetarian chicken patty and spinach empanada, drink, and Green Machine sauce for $12. Great value for the portion! I really enjoyed the food and will be back.

We had never had Puerto Rican cuisine before so had no idea what to expect. We kept an open mind and tried a lot of the menu. We were pleasantly please and delighted with the service, atmosphere and especially the small but super tasty menu. We tried the chicken empanada- smokey, cheesy and crispy. Great flavor. We would go back just for that! We also got the chicken jibarito with plantain bread with a side of yucca fries and sweet potato fries. All were delish and freshly made. Chicken was moist and yummy, fries crispy. Served with three different dipping containers. One mayo-ish, one BBQ, and the other perfect with the empanadas. We finished it off with white cornmeal churros dusted on cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey! Showstopper. These were better than fresh doughnuts. Everything was delish. We will be back!

This place was excellent. The prices initially seem high, based on the description, but the portions are huge and the dishes are so much more flavorful and nuanced than the menu descriptions sound. I’m not sure what kind of sorcery they’re doing to make the sauces so good, the mango BBQ sauce was so good that I essentially murdered the bun of my dining companion’s sandwich while trying to drag my yuca fries through it. And the staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Down home (island) cooking…all my favorites…the papas rellenas were a special treat. Creative decor was on the modern side with the giant Coqui ready to jump off the wall.

So I had the jibarito and I thought it was good! Well seasoned and the flavored blended well together. The fries were amazing! However, my friends got the mofongo and it was okay. Didn’t taste as flavorful as they’d hoped. Also there was no Chicharrón to pair with the mofongo! I will say, I sampled the mofongo and the chicken I agree with their assessment. The chicken was excellent though! Think I will try the rice plate with chicken next time. Worth a try, but maybe temper expectations when it comes to the mofongo.

Authenticity and flavor to match! Great vegan/vegetarian options to top it all off. You will not be disappointed. Definitely get the pastellitos and the mofongo was one of the best that I have had on and off the island

Big portions and great food! Price might be a bit higher than other spots in East Ridge, but that’s understandable with how much you get. Hope they do well, the spot they are in has not been kind to other local businesses. When you go, ask for a coconut!

There is more to this little eatery at the end of the strip. The appearance on the outside does not describe what is in the inside. It is warm and comfortable the place is clean including the kitchen. It was a bit of a rush hour but the the waitress or cashier was friendly. That is what an eatery needs. My first time eating there I didn’t want to get something I would regret. She picked it out. Which is also on the menu for those confused like me. What she picked I enjoyed. It was black means with green olives. I did not think I would like it but when I ate it the explosion of flavors went mad. I enjoyed it so much The rice was just a tad sticky but it was made up by the flair of flavor as well. The chicken meat I figured it out and combined them together that made a great lunch. For the amount you get a nice portion and it was well worth it. I highly recommend you come stop by this small eatery with great flavor. Welcome to east ridge I will visit you again

Authentic food. Pricey. No table service. I’m gratified that we have a Puerto Rican restaurant. I had the Mufongo, I told them i was vegetarian. They were quick to offer an “Impossible protein” option. The veggie meat was savory delish. Presentation was straightforward, No frills. Accompanied with yellow rice and black beans. Portions could have been larger. You’re gonna hafta to catch em, they keep bizarre hours. I paid $15 for a togo plate. Very friendly attendant

I really wanted to like this place. But I was disappointed. Nothing had any flavor. There was so much rice and it too had no flavor. The black beans seemed to be straight out of the can with no salt or anything. And they were cold. And there was such a small amount of chicken. For the price, it just was not worth it.
