Another great day in Denver. Had a very tasty early dinner at Southern Soul Food restaurant, Cora Fay’s in Aurora. They were featured on Food Networks Drive Inns Diners and Dives with Guy Fieri. It’s worth the 30-minute drive. Fried chicken made the way I remember growing up. Great veg sides, and super moist, fresh made cakes!

Service was fantastic, food was delicious. Smothered pork chops melted in your mouth. Greens were cooked perfect, not overcooked, not salty Mac and cheese was yummy. Save room for the peach cobbler. Will definitely be back.

Soul food prepared by a southern woman with real soul. She loves her food and it shows. Best catfish in town bar none. The atmosphere reminds me of going to see my grandmother on a summer afternoon in the best way. Cozy, good food, wonderful people, can’t ask for more really. I wish this woman a long life of success.

Good service. We came in for lunch. I had the catfish sandwich and collard greens and my kids split a burger and fries. Burger was good enough to split. Catfish and collards were breaded and cooked well but could have been seasoned a little more. I tried a bite of the burger and that was delicious. The sweet tea was so good. Definitely reminded me of home. I would stop by again if I was in the area but I did want a little more.

The restaurant was recommended by a previous customer. I was a little hesitant because previous I was disappointed in some of the restaurants. Well, first day I was amazed at how cleaned it was, not one speck of litter was in the carpet?? Yes, it shocked me. The food?? Excellent!! I went back the next day and took my daughter. She loved it too. When I return to Aurora Colorado, next stop after checking in my motel.
