Great ambiance and service. The waffles were very soft with no outer crunch like a proper waffle should have. Soggy. Flavors were there but ruined by texture. The yellow jacket lattes lacked flavor of honey and lavender. It was extremely subtle to where if I didn’t know they were there I would guess it’s just a standard latte.

I have always loved this place it was my oasis of normal (a coffee shop that served salads and lighter fare) when I first moved to this area about 6 years ago. We used to go almost weekly but saw the quality diminish when Donna’s opened thinking maybe they were stretched too thin. After several disappointing trips in a row we stopped going. Tonight we went again wanting to give it another shot. Staff was pleasant and only one other table was occupied when I stopped in for take out. My pricy orange cream drink unfortunately literally random started bubbling over all over me and the floor lava flow style as soon as I put my straw in the drink for some reason. The staff helped me clean it up but didn’t offer to remake my drink and 1/3 of it was now on the floor. They also seemed bothered when I asked for the drink to be transferred to a new cup so I didn’t get sticky spilled mess all over my car like it was all over my pants and shoes at this point. Was especially disappointed one of our old favorite servers who I think is in mgmt now was there working and didn’t even swing by to see what the drink lava flow commotion was about or offer to remake the drink. If you make a drink that explosive overflows on your customer in their work clothing, I’d apologize, remake and comp it honestly. ♀️The summer chicken salad was literally 3-4 tablespoons of chicken salad on a very stale croissant roll and the cheesesteak was beyond salty to the point it was inedible. I remember now I had the cheesesteak before ages ago and it was incredibly salty then too, but I thought someone went heavy handed with the shaker in food prep…I guess the meat used is pre-seasoned HEAVILY with salt to the point it’s not edible or enjoyable for me and I def wouldn’t recommend it for anyone watching salt for medical reasons. Literally no other taste to the meal it is just a mouth full of meat textured salt. Unfortunately we probably won’t be back again. Love the atmosphere and concept, have loved some of the servers over the years when we were regulars, but the food being prepared has not been up to their own prior standards in recent years and honestly there’s lots more food options in the area now.

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch after the iconic annual Benson Mule festival. We randomly searched for lunch spots and found this one and we were so glad! The food was excellent and the coffee just perfect. We had a lovely waitress who was sweet and friendly. Though we sat outside, the inside is also super cozy with lovely sofas, board games and a piano on one side with lots of fun art all over the walls and in the bathroom. The toilets were super clean.

Went in on a whim traveling though town, and was super impressed by the friendly service. The food was phenomenal. I got the Kickin’ Chicken and it was great, just the right amount of spice. The tomato soup was great as well. I’ll definitely be back.

Perfect Waffle breakfast sandwiches. The waffle itself is not overly sweet and pairs well with the bacon, egg, and cheese. Nice small sandwich. If you are extra hungry I would double the BEC. The Toasted Marshmallow Latte was tasty and hit the spot for my caffeine fix. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is quite enough to have a real conversation.

Nice café located in downtown Coats NC. The staff was friendly and the coffee was good. They also serve waffles all day along with lunch,dinner and dessert. I loved the historic pictures on the walls. Great place to meet friends as they have comfy couches to sit on to enjoy your coffee

First, the place is very cozy and very nice atmosphere. However, it always takes at least a hour to get food, even breakfast and with only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. Three of the times I have came in at least 1 of the plates had cold food on it when brought to the table because of the wait time and unorganized kitchen. The food is good but would be very good if it came out hot and ready to eat. Overall it is a nice atmosphere to sit and eat but a coin flip on if you will get hot food or be sitting there for over a hour waiting for an egg sandwich.
