We stopped here for lunch on our road trip and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the blackened catfish. The owners were super nice and the service was great. If you’re in the area, you should definitely stop by!

Delicious food cooked when you order! If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault! They don’t skimp on portions or quality. The prices are very affordable as well!

Absolutely amazing southern/home cooking ! The cornerstone burger was a work of art and The lemon pie was to die for, not to mention how at home the owners and staff made us feel ! We will be returning in the near future ☺️

A hidden gem of Dade County! In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in the area.

If you are ever in the area this is a must stop spot! If your tired of the same old chain restaurants, or the bougie impersonal downtown dining, and instead have found yourself missing, or searching, for that downhome familier afteroon aroma, that nap on a porchwing, Sunday dinner at Grandmas kind of meal. You know your search is over when you turn into the parking lot (or driveway rather) that sits in front of this simple red wood home charading as a restaurant. With its covered wood front porch, the wind chimes and nik nacs placed in no particular arrangement, and that soft quiet you only get in the south; Penny and Kent welcome you in as you are to rest your bones and feed your old soul. Any review you read you will find Amazing things being said about the food, owners, environment, and prices. Praises that repeat across all the experiences people have shared. Kent doesn’t pretend about the fact that his Cornerstone restaurant caters to a certain character of people and the occasional wanderlust couple on a journey of nostalgia (me and my man), it wasn’t ever ment to be a “popular” spot or the type of place that offers matching coffee cups and displays a “please wait to be seated” sign. It’s where the simple southern man can hang his hat, where the famished farmer can rest his calloused hands and get a meal who wants needs to somethin that smells like his mama cooked it, and where the “Hangry” trucker can finally eat a meal made from love not preservatives. You will not just leave with a full belly if you go visit Penny and Kent’s Cornerstone restaurant, you walk out with memories, an experience worth sharing, and a feeling that you are leaving somewhere very special and near extinct. Please mention to Kent that you stopped in after reading some reviews on Google Maps, he didn’t even know past patrons wrote about his place, let alone that they spoke so lovingly and positively about their experiences.

Real home cooking. Small but wonderful view. Service was friendly and very helpful.

Kent smoked fresh salmon today, it was by far the best I eaten in my travels. Perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of smoking as to not overpower the flavor of the salmon. I chose Penny’s seasoned greens and a baked potato. The meal also includes bread, drink and deserts of your choice. If you stop by you are sure to see friends and neighbors. It’s always a good meal at a great price with friends.

This place is amazing. The food is homemade and every bite was delicious. The service was excellent as well. But the best parts about this place are the owners. They are two of the coolest people I’ve ever met. Hands down! Worth a road trip to stop by!
