I recently learned of this place via social media and had to try it. To my disappointment, their hours are Monday through Friday from 11-2, which tremendously limits when I can go because I work Monday through Friday from 7-2:30, and I don’t have a “lunch break” type of job. My opportunity came on Veteran’s Day. Upon arrival, I was informed that they didn’t have any potatoes, which was my reason for going, and the only time I could go. I will be out of town during my time off work for Thanksgiving, so I won’t be able to go again until I’m off for Christmas. Since I was already there, I went ahead and got a brisket sandwich. It was absolutely phenomenal, and I even got one to take home, but it didn’t even make it home. The staff was friendly and provided great service. For that reason, I would love to give this place five stars, but when taking into account that they didn’t have want I wanted, and I’m very limited on when I can go, I had to knock off a star.

Enjoyed a nice sammy with a side of fries and cole slaw. The fries were improved with the seasoning and the slaw wasn’t sweet and full of mayo. They weren’t your average sides and this isn’t your average BBQ. Give them a try and see why.

Cotton State BBQ was delicious! We experienced the Downtown food truck.The BBQ sauce is an award winning recipe and I will tell you I don’t really care for too many bbq sauces but this sauce was bomb! The crinkle fries were seasoned and actually crispy! I get dissapointed with crinkles usually because they aren’t crisp enough. My family loved the cheese fries and brisket fries!

Chicken is very dry has no flavor at all. Fries are freezer section fries. Has the loaded fries and to say I was not impressed is an understatement it had dried cheese, cold crinkle cut fries and flavorless chicken. Not to mention the prices are ridiculous $8.00 for a sandwich then another $3.00 for fries plus another $3.00 for drinks.

Absolutely loved the food!! It’s pretty small inside, but don’t let that fool you. I had the truly chicken salad sandwich and fries and man, oh man was it delicious. The fries are seasoned perfectly and the sandwich had the perfect balance. My family and I enjoyed every bit of our meal and the staff is so nice!
