Here I am calling myself an idiot cause I can’t believe this place is right in my neck of the woods, and today was the first time I’ve ever stopped in!! Grew up here and went to school here, and just totally ignored it all these years! I’m so happy I finally gave it a try, and man O man, the food is AMAZING!! It’s hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is great, and the price can’t be beat!!!! They just got themselves a new regular!!

I was road tripping through the area and looking for local food. This was awesome!!! Everything I tried was perfect. The corn bread was like no other I’ve tried. Big wow!

Cute place, just like the namesake. You feel like you are at your granny’s in the country having a meal. The place was absolutely packed when we went. It made the seating a bit uncomfortable with how close the tables were to other tables. But that is testament to how many people must love this place. The buffet food was always hot and fresh and the service was great with drink refills. Took a star away because I personally would rather have a wait time and not be packed in like sardines into a restaurant. That level of crowded really takes away from the experience for me.

We were providing production at Jambalaya Fest again this year and needed a place for lunch. Country Kitchen showed up on my timeline as a local place with great reviews, so we gave it a try. It did not disappoint. We didn’t realize it was a buffet, as we usually shy away from those. This one was full of home cooked food. Fried and baked chicken, gumbo, baked fish, Jambalaya with white beans, and then some. We also found a full salad bar, as well as a desert bar. Everything was clean and well kept. Your drink never hit the bottom. Service was friendly and spot on. Parking lot looked full when we got there, but restaurant is huge and not even close to being full. Definitely will stop in anytime we are in the area.

Awesome hidden gem. Been living in Baton Rouge for three years and have never heard of this place. Was outstanding. Will keep this in the rotation. Has a little shopping area in the front.

Delicious home cooked southern food. This place never let’s me down. There is hand sanitizer when you walk in and masks for 25 cents if you need/want one. Also, they started doing self serve buffet again.

Great variety of food, only thing it isn’t so good. Also had my husband throwing up in the parking lot! The workers seem to talk to certain customers and not take care of others. Having to ask for a refill on drinks.
