I was surprised reading reviews of this place and then actually going there that they did not match up. I never base a place on what it looks like because some of the places I have been that were scary had some amazing food. That being said, once I sat down at the table and was given a menu I observed a few things. The first one was a smell that I just could not put a name to the whole time I was eating. The table cloth was black and white but the portion where you sit and eat was almost white because the black had worn off of it over time. You move the salt and pepper and the napkins and the table cloth looked new again because no one ever touches it. Not a hard fix. The floor next to the table looks like it was mopped when they opened 20 plus years ago. I am not sure the fan in the kitchen was working as there was a layer of smoke in the dining room that may have been the smell issue. The omelet I had was nice looking but the egg was undercooked as I took a bite and my mouth was filled with liquid from the egg and liquid cheese. Just didn’t make it appetizing anymore for me. Honestly I am thinking that the people that have been coming there for years for convenience just don’t notice the issues over time. The waitress did not really have a good personality so when you asked her for something we just got an “ok” with a blank look on her face almost like it was said in a different language. The pancakes were decent. The toast was done on the grill which can be good but not placing the whole slice on it makes it toast some spots and not others. The “city ham” was real fatty and did not look appetizing.

I don’t know if i ordered the right thing or not because this wasn’t it. The wait was long but the customer service was good. The food was bland and the chicken tenders were the frozen kind. Maybe if I ordered breakfast it would have been better but Idk.

This visit was my second time eating here the first was somewhat disappointing and the second time around was truly the charm because my food was delish! They created my son a little baby breakfast meal of grits and eggs. It smelled so good in there foe myself I ordered one pancake (which was gigantic) an order of bacon, and one fried egg. Everything was terrific and the customer service even better.

Great little Cafe. The food was awesome. If you get a chance to stop in you won’t be disappointed. Great little hidden jem mom and pop place and be sure to check out the signs on the walls. They will keep you entertained while waiting for your order.
