Ate here just tonight while on a scouting trip for a soon-to-be new home. Monday night was very slow, but that didn’t make the service dull. Our server was courteous and professional. The onion leaves appetizer was nicely fried, not heavy or greasy, with a dipping sauce that’s spicy on the back end, so I kept it while my wife had her portion without sauce and enjoyed them heartily. For entree, I had the Route 11 burger, rare, and my wife had the grilled maple chicken sandwich. Both were quite delicious having them with no alteration from the menu description.

It will be quite awhile before I return to County Seat Restaraunt at Best Western University Inn. I have enjoyed going there for years, but tonight’s experience is enough of a reason for me not to return. Our waitress was extremely rude from the start as was witnessed by many both in my group and at the lounge in general, due to her actions (yelling across the restaurant). Had to ask for a drink when my glass was empty despite her taking someone else’s drink order from my table at the same time, then was glared at for asking (someone actually said to me following this exchange that the waitress clearly had an issue with me). Another in my group had a similar experience when she then had to ask for the same. Once meals came, mine was literally just shoved across the table without the waitress saying anything. Rather than waiting and bringing all 7 orders for our table out at once, they came out 1-2 at a time and someone at the table ended up waiting a significant amount of time before any food was brought to her. Even just trying to get our bills and get them paid for at the end was an ordeal. I understand that everyone has good days and bad days, sometimes things aren’t the greatest, etc, but it’s also not okay to take frustrations out on others as a result. #thanksbutnothanks

During my recent stay at the hotel, I tried the restaurant and was pleased with the food. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. Hotel restaurant, but, stay with me, really good food. I had a reuben and sweet potato fries that were perfect, and the bartender was nice and my order was super fast from the kitchen, always good during…these…times when you want to get it to go and leave.

I am so impressed by this restaurant. I have a son that goes to SUNY Canton. He was not coming home for Easter , but I wanted to make sure he had a decent meal. They were having Easter dinner specials, dine in only. The manager was incredible and managed to get me 2 dinners for my son and his dorm mate, with dessert for them to pick up!! Thank you. It meant so much to me and them.
