A couple years back while hiking at the Toronto lake I found an amazing restaurant in the local town . It was the best Italian food I’ve ever had. When they closed I was very sad. So when they opened a Togo only service I was ecstatic. Last year I ordered a special, that was not very good, and they forgot my side salad. I assumed it had to be a food preference, I just didn’t care for whatever the special was that day. Today, I tried again. I ordered a trio, this was the same thing that I had gotten at the restaurant… I picked up my food, made sure to ask for napkins and silverware, then headed to the lake to enjoy dinner with a view. 10 minutes later with no silverware or napkins I persevere on. Unfortunately, from the lukewarm lasagna that was cold in the middle, to the soggy breaded chicken patty, I was again underwhelmed. The food is edible, but it is no longer worth the detour for food.

I have eaten Courtney’s from the day she opened her doors years ago, Italian food is my favorite food and courtney does it like nobody else can. The taste, the texture and the look. Olive garden, spaghetti warehouse look out cause there is a new Italian brand making it’s way to the top, if you’ve not been you just gotta try! The new aroma that is flavoring Toronto! And if your a fan of Nachos she has put an Italian twist to the nacho, and they are to die for. It is a must to stop in and have one of her dishes, as well as her cheesecake desserts.

Wonderful people making really good food. We rode our bikes from Humboldt to have Italian food, and they let us eat at their table on the patio rather than find a place in town to sit and eat, as they are currently take out only. Two entrees, two salads, an order of breadsticks, and a piece of cake for ~$40. All delicious, and well worth the 70 mile round trip on a bicycle.

I’ve eaten more than my fair share of Italian food, from St. Louis, to Rome, to Florence – who would think that some of the best (if not the best) food would come from Toronto, Kansas? Her entrees are all truly incredible – I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite – and her cheesecake is the best I’ve ever tasted! Even if you have to make a long drive, you’ll be glad you did! Eat At Courtney’s!
