The best part was the chicken of course! I would definitely go back for the chicken, it wasn’t dry and was good with the spicy sauce. I did not like any of the sides. The can tasted corn and had a weird flavor and the okra was alright! Bread was bad. They had great lemonades for drinks! My bf liked the jalapeño lemonade. I liked the strawberry lemonade! In between a 3-4 stars. It was cool to watch the chicken cook and spin around in the restaurant. The environment was nice and it was clean inside.

By far, the most dried out chicken I’ve ever eaten. When you eat the dark meat on the chicken and it’s dry, you know that it was extremely overcooked. Rotisserie chicken was so dry, the chicken drumsticks were also so overcooked the chicken had split to the bone being so over fried. Then, to top it off, the Mac and cheese was sour, and the chicken tenders were so dry the chicken didn’t even look like chicken it was almost stringy consistency with a terrible batter that was thick. Like a 1/4″ of each tender was just coated in a very thick, not tasty batter. Absolutely a waste of money, and I’m shocked this place has decent reviews. This isn’t the first state I’ve tried cowboy chicken, either. These staff members in all locations need to be retrained and maybe stop pre cooking a hundred rotisserie chickens throughout the day when you’re not busy because you know damn well they are giving you the oldest one and not the ones fresh off the fire. Super disappointed and just another reason why we hardly ever eat out in denison/sherman.

Great place. Highly recommended. They have my favorite brisket. Usually I’d like to add bbq sauce on my brisket, but after trying one bite at Cowboy Chicken, I felt in love with it and wouldn’t want to add any sauce so that I could enjoy it fully. The chicken is wonderful too. I really like their twice baked potato side, and don’t like their Spanish rice side much.

Our last visit was disappointing. The cashier/hostess had us wait while she took a customer their food, then we had to wait for her to finish chatting with the latest customers before she even took their order, then brought us our food. It had been sitting in the window before the chatty customers came in . The cooks were in the window/back just watching and waiting. Our food was served cold & dry. A little later another employee came out to help. There were only 4 tables being served
