You go there for the experience. The service was the best. The food was delicious. Reservations are made in advance. You either pick the chicken or the steak. It’s a 4 course meal salad,(homemade dressings)cowboy beans, main course, with enough rolls to make a meal, than dessert. Dishes are cleared after each course, and a big mason jar of tea or pink lemonade. Love every bit. The best part is there are leftovers ,

Very good food. Must have a reservation and a bit out of the way, but it was well worth the trip. The price wasn’t bad for the amount of leftovers you get to take home. Bring a cooler if it’s hot out.

I love this unique gem out in the middle of no where. This place has an old rustic country shack feel so it makes it a very unique experience. Steaks are always perfect and potatoes are huge and biscuits and beans are fresh! And strawberry shortcake for dessert is always a nice treat afterwards. Been eating here for years and its been great everytime. I can never finish it so there always plenty of leftovers. The service is great too and last time they have corn hole outside to keep you entertained while you wait and a little gift shop. Always make sure you have a reservation before. Ill be back again!

The CDT was all we hoped for and more! 100% worth the drive and cost. Amazing food, atmosphere, and wonderful service (thanks Amy!). Personally, Otis (gorgeous cat that wanders around greeting guests like he doesn’t have a care in the world haha) was a huge highlight for me! 🙂 We will definitely visit again!

Strongly recommend this place. Top notch food. The wife and I could only eat a quarter of our main course. So much food. Great gift shop as well. Make sure to take cash as there is no way to process a card.

This is our second trip here. Great food and the help is AMAZING! Thank you so much! Start off with your beverage, we had the lemonade. Then you get salad. After that you get a bowl of beans to ladle up and a dish of rolls. A ginormous steak and baked potaoe follows. Dessert is a slice of shortcake topped with berries. Our first trip I ordered the chicken. You get a WHOLE chicken. It was very good as well.

CDT never disappoints. I usually go for the steak, but this time I decided to try the whole chicken. Can I just tell you, the crispy skin was amazing – so flavorful. And the meat perfectly moist. They start you off with a delicious green salad with their secret recipe honey mustard dressing. I say it is a secret recipe because I have begged them for it. Then I went home and tried to duplicate it – couldn’t. Then they serve the Cowboy beans – to die for – along with their soft, pillowy, hot-from-the oven rolls. Them comes the entree. Hope you have room. They don’t serve alcohol, but that does not seem to deter anyone from enjoying the experience. To top it all off, they bring a dessert (which varies). Not only is the food extraordinary, but the restaurant is waaaay out there in the country by the little town of Silver Lake. It is worth the drive and is a one-of-a-kind dining experience. You need to go! P.S. Leave your credit cards at home because they only take cash. The cost is $45 per person not including tip.
