Cracker barrel is not fancy but it is consistently good food. Simple and tasty. A wonderful young lady named Kaydence took care of me tonight….. smiled, checked on me and kept my water full. Those little things make all the difference! The chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy were perfectly cooked, hot and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. For only $2.50 extra I upgraded to a side salad as one of my side dishes. The salad was refreshingly large and topped with tomatoes, bacon, cucumber, cheese and croutons. It was really very good. The food was good and reasonably priced. That is how you earn 5 stars….. tasty food and good service.

We recommend. There were some complications but they were super accommodating. We had a very large group. We got some mix messages regarding if they could accommodate our group( in the future, we know to break up large groups). Our servers were great! Management went above and beyond to right the wrongs. Took a bit to get the bill, the system had trouble breaking up the bill.

Place is filthy and dirty, we went to the bathroom waiting for our food. The busboys clean up the whole table including a bag of candy that we broad for the kids. The busboys told us my Job is nobody in the table I clean. No apology at all didn’t care. Food is ok. . Nothing out of the ordinary… Food was just dump to the table..

They have new menu ites that are a perfect addition to the menu. The biscuits and pancakes are classic hits every time. I got the sirloin hash scramble which was very good. Then we got homestyle loaded fried chicken and Street corn to go. Waitress was so very kind and quick. She checked on us frequently. My eyes were definitely too big for my stomach. So I have breakfast for tomorrow lol. I have to go back to try the new biscuit beignets with pecan dip and other new items.

I wish I had photos from a few months back but I don’t. But this place seriously needs to close down. I keep giving it a try because the rest of my family for whatever reason likes it (even though we never have a good experience at this location). A few months ago our food came out cold, and not only that but our silverware that was wrapped up in the napkins had mashed potato’s all over them! Like they never went through the wash, and they just wrapped up dirty dishes. We also had food smashed between the bread plates. But as for today, Q our server was great, but the food was atrocious. Not fresh, not good, the corn came out and it looked freezer burnt and it was so mushy, I didn’t even try to eat it is was so gross. One of my shrimp were legitimately frozen. And the place was TRASHED. Food all over our table, we wiped it down ourselves. The overall experience was just like last time. Disgusting conditions of the restaurant, I think it’s a health hazard, slow service, and the food always has issues with it. I don’t know what happened because this place used to be very popular and the service/food was great and moved people through very quickly, but as of today and the last year or so – this place has been truly AWFUL.

Great location right off of 270 in Frederick, closest one in Maryland to the DC area. Our family likes to head up here in a lazy day and enjoy the great breakfast. Be prepared to wait as it always seems busy but the wait tends to move fast. Our recent trip was more of a brunch with someone who has never been before. The great thing about this restaurant is that it has something for everyone. So if you want to indulge go for it, if you are looking for something on the lighter side they have that too. The favorite by many of our family is the Grandma’s special or the breakfast sampler. The country ham can be a bit too salty in my opinion, so be careful. Hope you enjoy!

Cracker Barrel has some of the most underrated food, and what makes it even better is that everything is at such a great price! Where can you get a good Steak and 3 whole sides for under $25?! I never knew how good their Steak was until a friend of mine put me on to it. It’s very well seasoned and super tender, and just perfect! Cracker Barrel also has some of the most tastiest Pancakes in my opinion. Their new Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes were amazing! Unfortunately though they were all out of strawberries when I got these lol but the pancakes with the cream were still fire!

*update. The food we waited forever for was terrible. Corn was basically boiled canned corn, pinto beans tasteless and watery, broccoli was overcooked and bitter, carrots were tasteless and bitter, mashed potatoes were tasteless, and the fried shrimp was undercooked. Coleslaw was drowned in mayonnaise. Cobbler is undercooked and still batter. We are never coming back to this location.
