I placed an order for pick , Classic Sampler I picked meatloaf and chicken and dumplings , Broccoli, mac and cheese and a side of fruit. The staff was really nice but my food was the worst. No chicken in my dumplings and they forgot to put my fruit in the bag, so after leaving I had to turn around and once I got the Fruit was old and it was in a small container for 5 dollars. I Love Cracker Barrel and they wasn’t even busy. This will not stop me from returning But hopefully I have a better experience next time

Out hostess Jill was awesome, the food was good… but the other clientele are yikes. This place is full of boomers. As soon as we entered, an old guy was yelling at the hostess, and I mean YELLING about something that was totally out of control.

This is a “tester store” which means they test out new products or ideas on the public. They took away the little peg game cuz of Covid (which is over now) and if you want to play, you have to buy one. Not all stores do this. Just this “tester” store which has has their “own” rules.

Had not been to the Newport News location in a while during our travels. We had a repeat of our experience from last year–little to no wait for late lunch on Sunday around 2pm, so we were seated and our order was taken quickly. However, we waited over 40 minutes to receive food. We were seated right next to the kitchen, so I don’t think it would have been easy to miss us, but our server disappeared. It took several staff members and the manager to finally track down our food and offered to make it fresh, but we didn’t have time since we were getting on the road. A entirely disappointing experience. It was not crowded, so I might guess they were understaffed? Anyway, I probably won’t stop at that location again due to consistently poor service.

We arrived at 10:00 a.m. They told us it would be a 10 minute wait and we kept waiting and then we went to check after about 20 minutes They said another 10 minute wait and then an hour passed by and the manager came out to see what was going on and by then more of our family was able to come eat with us. We explained how long we’ve been waiting and we told them now we needed more seats because we waited so long and new family members were coming and the manager actually had an attitude with us for adding more people which you would think they would be happy about getting more service. He was very rude unapologetic and they finally sat us all. Some of us never got our food literally until the check came some of us only got half of our food and we had to get it to go. The food was mediocre at best which I expected more from what I’ve heard about cracker barrel. I will never be back and I will be sure to let people know not to go to this location. I could not believe the service or lack of. But I will say the waitresses tried their best but this was not their fault at all. They were at least friendly and trying.

Ordered the Momma’s French Toast breakfast with eggs, bacon and orange juice. All of was good except the French toast was dry. I’ll get pancakes next time. Cracker Barrel was busy for Thursday morning but our wait was only 15 minutes to be seated and 10 to 15 minutes for our meals. The server was attentive but not bothersome. Overall an good experience.

Food was average. The biscuits were good, and the bacon was crispy. But some of the silverware rambled eggs were still white and runny, so sorely undercooked. The pancakes tasted exactly like the biscuits, so they use the same stuff for both if them. It was better than I was expecting, because there were awful for years. The food has gotten better, but it is still just average. There are many other places you can go to get better food.

Had a large party. Understood having to wait. (40min) then it was only 15 and some of our party weren’t there. They wouldn’t seat us till they were there. Half the table got their food. When the second half came some of it was cold. Servers were great. But this is the 4th time and there’s always something wrong.???

I’m not sure what has happened to this place over the last couple of years. This use to be the place to go and get great breakfast. The food was not good at all. This can’t be blamed on the pandemic. I had no issues with the service or the wait. Scrambled eggs were over cooked and dry. Toast burnt. I’m done and won’t be back. This is a tourist city and there are other places to go and get really good food. One funny thing happened. While checking out we got 2 packs of candy for $1.59 and our breakfast came to $32. They tried to charge us $144. the cashier didn’t notice that the candy was labeled $40 a piece. we won’t be returning.

I ordered a momma’s breakfast with two sausage patties on the side and I got my food and I checked my patties and one of them was raw pink and my bacon was under cooked! Pancake syrup was watered down! I asked for my money back and they said it would take 3-5 business days! Sucks so much. Won’t be going back again!
