Whim for lunch today. I had the chicken fried chicken with three sides. My sides were dumplings, mashed potatoes and the greens. The dumplings are always fantastic and are my wife’s and my favorite dish in the restaurant. The mashed potatoes were good and I love the greens. The chicken fried chicken was two large portions of fried chicken, I could only finish about half and I took the other half home. It is really a nice large portion. The service is pretty good but they seem to always be crazy busy in there and if you want your waitress, it can be a little bit of a challenge to get her attention.

Worst experience ever. Waitress kept forgetting about us.. like even if they were short staffed everyone around us got biscuits and their food before us and I had to ask after 30 min. The food was horrible and the staff seemed so rude. Our eggs were suppose to be scrambled but they looked like they were making over easy and forgot halfway.. my mom refuses to come back and that’s because it took me convincing since she heard my dad had a bad time last week.. pancakes were so hard and my moms ham was over cooked and nasty.

Food was great got the pork chops Saturday special with okra and mash potatoes. Could of been a bigger portion. I would say IHOP or Dennis has better french toast and more food quantity. The quality of the food was good and tasted amazing. April our server was real on it and super nice. I would definitely be back just wish they had better parking.

Enjoyed the grits, and ham. The eggs had shells in them and initially they gave me dirty servingware, but all in all I got what I came for “the grits”. You would be surprised how hard it is to find that in south Texas. I drove 32 miles to get it.

Haven’t been here in years and I found it to be very loud, dirty and smelled like the dish washing area. Reminded me of my time in the service except the ship was clean. This place is so dirty. Come on, get someone on staff to at least sweep. The floor is covered in food and trash. I’m sure this is part of the smell. I really couldn’t enjoy the experience as I could see food being stepped on by the guest and staff as it smeared into their shoes and floor. Also, the soda was flat. Lastly, the flies. We both had lunch portion of Chicken and Dumplings, I had vedgetable soup for my side and husband had fried okra . The chicken and dumplings were perfect. The soup was good but very bland , I added Tabasco , salt and pepper.His okra was ok , it could have been a little more crisp. We also had bisquits and cornbread on the side , they were both perfect and I was very impressed they served real butter , not fake spread like most places in Corpus Christi. The service was very good and it was fairly quick.

After we were seated we waited over 45 minutes for our food and when we asked waitress, she stated food not ready yet so we then stated we were leaving. She then had manager come talk to us. Manager then came and lied to us by telling us our food was already on a tray and would get to our table in less than a minute however another 10 minutes passed and still nothing. We had our 8 yr old and 2yr old that really couldn’t wait any longer so we left. The restaurant was not full and we were the third group of people to walk out within the timeframe we were there and the manager didn’t even apologize to us. The waitress was very apologetic and had to see several of her assigned tables walkout. We did warn people entering restaurant about the wait and they decided to turnaround and not go in at all. Terrible service from manager.

Good food as always, but this time the service was absolutely horrible. Had to wait 10 mins to give our drink order. Finally got bread after asking twice. Food came out and had to ask for silverware twice. Not a single drink refill. Hoping it was just a bad 3 waitress. Didn’t bother leaving a tip. She sucked.
