Cozy dive bar. Came in on a Monday afternoon and their sanitation score went from 98.5 to a 99 so big thumbs up for that. Bartender recommended the crescent moon sandwich with the potato salad which did not disappoint. The thing I appreciated the most was the soft warm bread the sandwich came in, I’m always hesitant to order sandwiches from bars because they’re usually stale but they did good. Also I appreciate a solid German beer on draft and they had Paulaner’s Hefeweizen which is delicious if you are a wheat beer drinker

Visited this afternoon for lunch with friends Was shocked at how I was treated by our waitress. Never have I been treated so poorly- having a check slammed in my face at the table and being huffed at when I asked for a takeout box and a cup of ice water to go. Very rude, I could go on and on but she knows exactly how she acted. I usually tip very well even with take out these days as I know how hard working with the public can be, but honestly I cannot understand how this waitress is employed with her lack of respect and bad attitude toward customers. Food was fantastic but doubt I’ll be back being treated so poorly.

Crescent Moon Cafe is a great budget-friendly restaurant in Downtown Hickory. We tend to go around lunchtime during the workweek. They have a great staff that takes care of you promptly, respecting a person’s lunch hour. The food is phenomenal as well. Highly recommend trying the Cresent Moon Sandwich!

I ate here today since it said that they had gluten-free options. I ordered a sandwich on gluten free bread. The server was very busy and distracted so I told him that I have Celiac disease and could he please ask the kitchen to be careful about cross-contamination.

I’ve been to Hickory for dinner and date night many times but recently have been eating more plant-based so in searching for vegan or vegetarian restaurants in Hickory this popped up. It did not disappoint. Great beer options, wine options, and the hummus + edamame was outstanding. Really enjoyed the relaxed vibe and service.
