We ate there for lunch on Sunday. The place feels and looks like an old country diner should. They had a brunch buffet going but we ordered off the menu. Chips, salsa, and queso to start. The salsa was the star of that show. For lunch I had fried catfish, fried okra, and mashed potatoes and the wife had the Crow’s Toes, fried green tomatoes, and mashed potatoes. Every was delicious and hot! The catfish was one of the better ones I have had. We will return!

Great atmosphere and service. Food was just okay. For the fixings -the cabbage was bland, mac and cheese not cheesy, sweet corn not so sweet, but the Cole slaw was great.

Stand alone restaurant in old downtown area. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Menu selection was ample. Service was prompt. Food was hot or miss. Mostly miss. Chicken fried steak was very good. BBQ plate was fine. The squash casserole was almost all breading, Cabbage had little too no seasoning. Mac and cheese was very dry. Fried green tomatoes was very good. Tortilla chicken soup was really chicken soup with tortilla strips on top. Very bland. Loaded baked potato soup was very good. So overall it is very hit or miss. It is boarder line if I can recommend.

Went to the Sunday Brunch today and liked everything we ate. Waitress was very attentive and friendly in spite of the number of guests. Be sure to go early if you want them to cook some breakfast, which is an alternative that’s included in the Sunday Brunch buffet. Deserts are included as well.

My friend & I met here for our 1st time for weekday lunch. There weren’t many customers. The atmosphere was country cute, including framed still frames from Lonesome Dove. We wanted to try a few of the appetizers but unfortunately they don’t have a sampler. We asked our waitress if we could do a sampler of sorts & she said they don’t have that, but they can do a 1/2 & 1/2. This is not offered on the menu & she didn’t know the cost, but guessed it was around $9.99 like the other appetizers. It was actually $12.99. So we got to try the fried tomatoes, mushrooms, pickles. & zucchini. All fabulous!!!!

I think I found a new local favorite. The chicken fried steak was awesome. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Food has gone down hill over the years. Catfish is still good but items are clearly microwaved beyond that. It has the feeling if a small town eatery but big town prices. The food is not worth the cost. Our family of 4 just spent $130 for microwaved food.

The Sunday buffet is the stuff of local legend. Salad, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, fried corn meal coated catfish, county style vegetables, and slivers of pie are all available in small portions for those, like myself, who like to attempt sampling everything on the buffet. The quality and quantity of the fare make it difficult to stay on one’s diet.
