Definitely the best BBQ in Citrus County. It truly is worth the visit. My husband enjoys the smoked sliced pork loin, and turkey, but seriously the Mega Rack of Ribs is what he really goes for. You get about 14 good sized ribs that are so meaty and full of flavor. You have got to give them a try. His side of choice are green beans with bacon.

Tried this place today hoping for a good BBQ. Very nice inside and clean. Smelled yummy too. Our expectations went right down hill when our food arrived. My husband had the Brisket and pulled pork. I had the Brisket and smoked chicken. The meat was tough, dry and lacked flavor on both plates. I attached a picture of my plate. I ate 1 small piece of that chicken. It was awful!! Why would you even sell/place small dried out chicken on someone’s plate. Especially at $21!! I also had the green beans, which looked and tasted 3 or more days old! Neither one of us finished our plates. On a good note the garlic bread was good. Definitely not worth the bill we payed. I should have complained to management but was to aggravated to do so!

We were driving through town on the hunt for a BBQ joint and stumbled upon the Crystal River Smokehouse. Took a quick look at other Google Review stars and comments and decided to stop. Super conveniently located right off the main road, just on the outskirts of the main streets in town.

Very disappointed. Food was okay, brisket was ok. Ordered 2 meat platter of brisket and smoked turkey and they were out of turkey so I had to get smoked chicken. My son got his onion rings 10 minutes before his burger, my other son never got his fries that he ordered at all. Took almost 30 minutes to get our food, my husband’s food- he ordered brisket -came out a good 5 to 10 minutes after we all got our food. All the other diners got pork rinds. We did not. Will not go back

Not getting BBQ anywhere else in Citrus! We ordered a rack of ribs and let me tell you, they hit the spot! Not only are they relatively large, the smokiness was perfect. You get to choose what sauce of the many you use on them but honestly even without the sauce they were great. Also loved the Brunswick stew, large chunks of potatoes and it’s savory and sweet. We will be back.

Great lunch spot. Very tasty food. Meals and sandwhiches (smart touch) all smoked meats. Family atmosphere inside. Fast service (good thing we had a 4-seat table for 2 people starter, salad, main came so fast it was one big meal which is great). As long as you like meat-centred meals you will not go wrong here. Cannot recomend enough. So much nicer (cleaner) atmosphere than expected for a ‘roadside dinner’, and food quality was hip city restaurant easily.
