Excellent. The Top Shelf margarita was AMAZING. The queso, salsa, and guacamole were wonderful. The street corn appetizer was yummy too. My wife loved her huarache. My bistec ranchero was really good, but, sadly the beef was chewy and tough; I could tell it was probably just not a great batch of beef, and I’m sure it’s normally excellent. Overall, highly recommended!

This is by far the best Mexican food in Waco. It is authentic, flavorful Mexican food and drinks. Entree price ranged is very reasonable, and you get your money’s worth on bar menu.

This place was extremely appealing, and the food was flavorful. We had the chips and trio dips. The huache with barbacoa and a delicious alcoholic drink. This place is the real deal homemade authentic Mexican food! It will bring back those moments when traveling to Mexico . Met one of the owners Selena super sweet and humble (como la flor con tanto amor).

Waco isn’t short on Mexican cuisine but we decided to try this place driving from McGregor. I am happy to report it was worth the drive for just an overall good meal. Imagine having your Mexican mother cook you a really good filling dinner. It pretty much sums up this place. Nothing taste like it was mass produced like some of the other bigger establishments or chains. It’s hard to describe but everything just tasted clean, fresh, nothing over seasoned and well balanced in flavor.

Everything was SOOO delicious. Understand that your meal is MADE TO ORDER so there might be a little wait time, but trust this review when I say it’s SOOO worth the wait. Words to describe: Savory, Homemade, Authentic, Clean, Inviting… I could go on.

The food was GREAT! The environment was nice. They are eventually even gonging to have a patio which I can’t wait for. Definitely the best AUTHENTIC Mexican spot in Waco! The way the food is seasoned with the spices is unmatched. All of the people who work there are so Friendly and welcoming too it’s like you’re supposed to be eating there. Huge shout out to the owners as well Jesus and Selina (the two in picture with me) because they are the epitome of what connecting with your customers should look like! As hard as those two work you wouldn’t even have known they were the owners. They also stay open late and are located downtown so after or before you eat there’s tons to do. Overall 10/10 and I will definitely be eating there real soon.

I will echo a lot of the reviews already here. Great service and food. The waitstaff had to juggle a big table while were there but they were very attentive to everyone. The food was fresh and fast. In a Waco market saturated with Mexican food this restaurant stands out.

This new Mexican restaurant, Bombones, near downtown Waco is a step above all other Mexican places. We started with the mango shrimp cocktail that was spicy and delightful with delicious, large shrimp immersed in a red cocktail sauce with chucks of fresh mango ~ tasted like an appetizer a fine gourmet restaurant would serve. Then we enjoyed ‘street corn’~so fresh and flavorful cut right off the cob with a great blend of cheese and spices. We will definitely get both these appetizers again! Next we ordered Asado Fries which were thinly sliced potatoes more like scalloped potatoes than fries served with large cubes of meat and cheese all over. We also ordered two tacos- one beef fajita and one beef taco. The homemade tortillas were perfect and piping hot off the grill! For an entree, we had my favorite dish chiles en nogado topped with a rich, cream sauce with beautiful spices and fresh pomegranate seeds on top. The meat inside the poblano pepper was perfectly seasoned. For dessert we enjoyed a large serving of flan cut in the shape of a piece of pie. It was melt in your mouth good with an unforgettable delicious whiskey caramel sauce. There is lots more dishes to try when we return!
