Let’s start with the beginning. Very fun place with lots of decoration. The woman at the front was very kind and courteous towards me while taking my order. However, there was a bit of confusion with my order which is ok, it happens. I ordered the pulled brisket jumbo sandwich with okra and fries. I loved it. However, I am picky on how I like my barbecue(considering I worked at Dickeys Barbecue pit). The pulled brisket was delicious, I really did love it. The okra was exceptional. The fries seemed slightly undercooked, but I still ate it all. The food felt just a tad on the cold side. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Now, the sauces I was disappointed to say the least. In hindsight, the food overall was good, and it’s definitely worth a try. It’s a fun, clean, uplifting, family friendly restauraunt.

I’ll start by saying that the ribs I had were wonderful. They were tender and flavorful. The sides left something to be desired. The fried okra was overcooked. The Mac n’ cheese was average. The sweet potato casserole had entirely too much spice and was inedible. I’m a previous NC resident visiting from Pittsburgh. I was really looking forward to some good southern food. This only partially satisfied. Was really disappointed with the side dishes.

I have mixed reviews on this one. Overall food is ok. Just wish they change the oil more frequently and fry items separately. Sweet potato Casserole was unimpressive. They ran out of half the menu and was not even near closing time. Meats were good. Chicken was not the best. Chicken tenders were good same as French fries.

The BBQ is not smoked. Pretty sure cooked on steam table. It was almost paste. I ordered the brisket. Sides were perfect. Banana pudding was delicious. Wife had the chicken it wasn’t much better.

Came here for lunch yesterday with my family. We are from Delaware and I was craving some bbq. I got the rib special on wed they have and tried their pulled pork and it was delicious. Ribs were seasoned and those yams were the finisher of it all . Great customer service as well! When you go def get strawberry cheesecake to go

Old style BBQ joint. Went with the 3 meat carnivore special. All the food groups there. Beef, chicken, pig. As a life long explorer of all things slow cooked go with the pork with vinegar. It’s definitely their strength. It’s the BBQ of choice in this region of the USA and they have perfected it at this restaurant. I basically saved it for last. The only thing was the hush puppies. I think they were probably cooked at too high a temperature and were too crispy for my taste.

Currituck bbq has been a favorite of ours for years. The meat is always amazing, and the mac n cheese is out of this world. Both the Elizabeth City and the currituck locations offer the same quality of food.

We love Currituck BBQ! The staff was so friendly and our food came out promptly – even in the middle of lunch rush. The pulled brisket is a must try!!!
