Over the past few months, I feel Curry Gate of South Boulevard in Charlotte has deteriorated exponentially. We visited for lunch today and it was not a good experience.

First time trying Indian food, and everything was flavorful and delicious. The korma chicken curry was probably the best food I’ve ever tried. The dumplings was delicious as well. Cool vibe and great atmosphere, making it hard not to go back and visit.

I have a bad habit of eating the food before I take a photo of it but I managed to get one. This place has really good food. We showed up right at opening but it started to fill up shortly after we had finished our meal. Curry dishes, chicken tandoori and the samosas were really good. The mango lassi was really refreshing. I got an 8 on the heat scale bc I’m really like that but one thing I can say is that the heat does not take away from the quality of flavor. You get a moderate helping size for your money. The staff are very nice. We’ll back for certain. Really recommend this place to try even if you do take out.

Curry Gate is always a good idea. My husband and I love their other location so we were excited to try this new location and be able to dine in.

Give this one a miss. The pictures prove it. Rasmalai – frozen. Sweet corn soup – nothing creamy about it. It was a watery broth with a few corn kernels. Naan – paper thin, stiff, stale. Nepali chicken curry – ordered a 6 out of 10 spicy level, got a fire brew. And I’m south Asian, I can handle spicy. Makes me wonder whether the good reviews of this place are all fake.

I am surprised to see French fries being super crispy . Though other food was average especially Gobi Manchurian where It was quite hard . Veg vindaloo was ok ok too.

When a Curry Gate craving hits you have to give in, luckily Curry Gate 2 on South Blvd just opened. When I tried it, I saw some familiar faces working, we ordered our favorites, chana masala, samosa chaat, chicken makhani and bhindi masala. Everything was just as delicious as the OG location. What I love best about CG, when you order spicy, they deliver. They have a heat scale from one to ten and level four kicks in the habaneros! So a four gets the party started. This is a great restaurant for dining in or take away.

I had an amazing experience at Curry Gate of South Blvd in Charlotte! The food was incredibly delicious, and I must thank Puja, my server, for the fantastic recommendation on the spice level. This was my third time at an Indian restaurant, and I can confidently say it was the best so far. The flavors were on point, the service was excellent, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
