Highland Park meets Chicago! Came here to enjoy the half off house martinis on a Thursday evening. We tried the lemon drop, bleu & gold and finished off with the espresso martini. The lemon drop was the best choice! For dinner we tried the cheeseburger and the Harry Caray pizza. The cheeseburger was good although the pizza was nothing special. If we would’ve paid full price I would’ve felt we overpaid. All in all, this is a good spot! The service was excellent, restaurant is well maintained and the location is great!

What a refreshingly brilliant experience. Most of the restaurants in this area save two or three have been around for decades, and new comers are often short lived or fall short of the mark. D.L. Mack’s is here to stay. Their menu is a brilliant addition of flavors that the surrounding restaurants are sorely missing. White Truffle chicken and honey pizza with a cream sauce and fresh arugula. YES! Finally someone is brave with flavor and it is paying off. The attention to detail, portions, freshness of ingredients, wait staff, ambiance, quality of kitchen staff, and consistency of incredibly flavor across the entire menu has me proud. This. Is. Dining. The traditional culinary excellence in the kitchen is flexible to cater the pallet of the modern America, and delivers. Bravo, I cannot wait to come again.

The pizza and pasta are amazing! The service here is also top tier! I’ve visited two locations and both have been great! I heard of the spicy pasta online on a Dallas IG post and had to try it. It was creamy and the spice was minimal and slowly built up. The drink selections are for wine and specials are really good, saw many people attending the happy hour.

Love this spot. Interior is what I would call elegant and sophisticated yet approachable. Nice place but has a very home style feel to it. Elevated American dishes for the most part. Bartenders are fantastic, had 2 of the spicy Mexican and they were fantastic. For food we had the Caesar, mozzarella sticks and the honey truffle chicken pizza. The pizza was absolutely insane, it has white truffle oil and honey on it and the chicken is crispy. 9/10 experience, perfect spot to grab a couple seats at the for a date night.

My husband and I had a quick lunch at DL Mack’s. I loved the ambiance/decor – I felt like I was actually in a Chicago pizzeria. As for the food, the mozzarella sticks were perfectly seasoned but could tell they had just been heated up in a microwave or something. The Chicago Dog was really good and a healthy portion. We were initially served the wrong pizza but they brought us the correct one and let us keep the other which I thought was nice. If you like cracker-crust pizza, definitely try this place out.

Great place right by SMU! Sister restaurant to Hudson House in this area. Different vibe. Our servers were Ben, Haley, and Nate. All fabulous. Chicken tenders are reminiscent of the ones Houston’s/Hillstone used to serve. Star today was the chicken parm slider. Same chicken parm as at Hudson House, but on a GREAT roll. The Mac & cheese was really f-ing great today as well. Pizzas are good, but I think the starters are where it’s at here.

This place isn’t that great. My server didn’t make the experience much better than the food. My server was talking to a friend or off duty coworker at the booth next to me the whole time I was there. I felt uncomfortable for wanting to interrupt her for things that I needed. I ordered 6 different food items and only 2 things really satisfied me. The mozzarella sticks were small and skinny, but weren’t bad. The wings were tiny, but delicious. The sauce that they are tossed in is perfect! The caesar salad was different, tasted more like a house salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing and the croutons tasted like cornbread. The cornbread croutons were actually delicious though, just caught me off guard. The pizza is nothing special, but the garlic knots are pretty good, the chicken tenders look better than they taste. The tenders are presented nicely, but they’re actually pretty bland. The spaghetti and meatballs were by far the worst thing we tried. The meatballs were overcooked, dry and bland. Spent $125 on this food and was highly disappointed, plus we had to tip on mediocre service. We always tip 20% or more and we felt guilty tipping 18% for the first time in a while. We almost tipped 15% but felt too guilty as previous servers.

Dl mack’s was very delicious and lived up to expectations, the atmosphere was very calming, kind service, decorated nicely, i recommend the cesar to start and getting the hary caray pizza and bread pudding 🙂
