D & S Kitchen is an authentic Jamaican restaurant right in the heart of downtown Bethlehem. Co-owners and sisters, Debbie Aldred and Sophia Young, were both born in the countryside of Jamaica. Growing up in a large family, cooking was second nature and each child had to take their turn sitting with Mama learning to cook her famous dishes. Forty years later, these sisters are bringing these famous dishes to the heart of Lehigh Valley.

I am from Philly and it’s been extremely hard looking for a Jamaican spots in Bethlehem, Yet I think I found it . 2nd time at D&S Caribbean Kitchen! And they did not disappoint Owner are welcoming and very friendly. The first time we had Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken it was very good. Today we had Callaloo & Salt Fish, and Jerk Chicken and side of Mac & Chz, All was Good as well, the only thing, I have to make sure to ask for Extra Jerk or Brown stew sauce. I Love Sauce.. I will be going back tomorrow (Wednesday)

I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and I finally gave in . I’ve never had Jamaican food so I was excited ! I must say the food was delicious !!! I got the jerk chicken, rice , collard greens and plantains. I thought the price was reasonable and the owner was so nice to me . Definitely going again

Ordered a Oxtail Dinner. It was pretty tasty and has a little bit of heat to it. Very minimal. Rice and peas, good. Oxtails, I ate with a fork, very tender and flavorful. Plantains, sweet. Cabbage tender, my preference is a little bit more sweet but they’re still good. Everyone was very friendly/welcoming. Also my food was hot which is good if you’re picking up food and taking home. I’m full and satisfied. Call early in the day if you want jerk chicken, they were sold out tonight

Never buying food from this place. I bought oxtail. First the food doesn’t taste good. Second I could count the number of oxtail they gave because it was small pieces of it. The plantain was hard and burnt. Never again for 20 dollar oxtail.

I’m wondering how they only have a 4.5 . Literally the best I’ve ever had from any Caribbean spot.

Ordered oxtails and they were the best I’ve ever had. It was my third time eating oxtails in my life and the first two times was awful lol. And the plantains were very good too and I’ve always didn’t like them. Definitely going back to try her other dishes!!

My was greated immediately by both Sister’s Debbie & Sophia upon entering the eatery! I was craving their Jerked Chicken and Brown rice and peas and cabbage. Everything was served hot and fresh. Plus their Banana bread is so moist and delicious! The rhythms of Reggae music topped off my visit! Great service and hospitality, I highly recommend you check them out when your in Bethlehem, Pa!

The food is tasty & great portions for the price. I’ve never had Jamaican food this cheap before with the amount of food that is plated. I enjoyed the oxtail & curry goat with roti dish the most wit their homemade juices! 1000% recommend!!!!!

4.7 review on Google brought me here today. I was very disappointed. I ordered a large jerk chicken platter which was $14.50. I will start with the portions- the platter had 3 pieces of chicken (1 drumstick and 2 thigh pieces). The skin was soggy and rubbery. The chicken had no flavor. I added the 3 small cups of sauce to the chicken to add some flavor. The sauce was pretty good. The rice also lacked flavor even with the oxtail gravy that I requested on top. The cabbage was inedible (by far the worst cabbage I’ve ever had in a Jamaican food platter). The plantains were very good. I know this review is only based on the jerk chicken platter that I ordered. Due to the small portions given for a platter that costs $14.50 and the fact the food lacks flavor I would have to say I would not be returning to this establishment again. Jerk chicken should be robust with flavor and spices and should leave some heat behind. There are many other Jamaican food choices in the Lehigh Valley that are far superior to this establishment.
