Great food, along with great people!. I got the chicken wing lunch plate with French fries, collards, with cornbread, and banana pudding. The fry seasoning has to grow on me, but the banana pudding is to die for!. Same thing goes for the chicken wings, absolutely delicious!. The collards are great as well. And, I got the heavenly lemonade which is so good!. Definitely recommend!.

I was excited to surprise my husband with lunch from Dab’s. We’ve never eaten from here but based on the reviews I didn’t think it would be bad. Unfortunately, it was terrible. To began upon enter the restaurant the door chimed and the was a lady in the cook window. She made eye contact but didn’t speak. I wated at the counter 5 mins past nothing, I said hello. She yelled I’ll be with you but another 5 mins past and nothing. A guy walks in and she politely greets him and appears from the back. She was rude in her tone while asking questions to locate my order. The food was worst. The waffles were dense and soggy. They were colored with red food coloring, which is not the same as red velvet. The banana pudding was definitely spoiled and the sweet potato pie was old. The chicken wings were good and hubby liked the tea. So for $32 we got 6 wing (3 each), sweet tea, and terrible customer service.

I stopped by yesterday (3-22-22) before 2 pm. I try to go out of my way to support Black businesses. I lived in Spring Lake years ago & planned to patronize this business & one other one before I hit the road. I’d already placed my order at the other restaurant when I came here.

Listen, Ms. Dab cooks with fire from the Holy Ghost. This food is sooo good, I don’t know how I’ve survived these years without it. I will be back errr week even if my bank account is on “E” I’ll just have to borrow the money cause this food is worth every single dime and more!!!

I was pleasantly surprised mostly to find soul food in Spring Lake, but then the Gumbo I ordered was delicious, and the shrimp was sauteed fresh. Actually, most items are made in small batches when ordered. Give yourself time for prep, and of course, you can call ahead to lessen your wait time.

Walked in she had an attitude. Let that go. So I ordered 3 chicken wing dinner with yams, rice& gravy & sweet potato pie. It was horrible. The yams tasted like pure vanilla extract The rice was very undercooked. It was hard. The wings had no flavor. Spent almost $40 on 2 plates. Never again. The only things was good was the lemonade remix!!!

What a delicious find! My husband and I travel all over NC and love trying different restaurants. This just became one of our top 5! We spent $10 for lunch at Dab’s and over $100 for dinner somewhere else and agreed that Dab’s was better. Everything was fresh and prepared with skill and love. The catfish is perfectly battered and just melts in your mouth. All of the sides, from okra, Mac and cheese, greens and rice with neckbone gravy, were flavorful and outstanding. And the owners and employees were so nice and welcoming. Be prepared to be blown away by the food and value!
