It’s such a cute place with DELICIOUS food. They had vegetarian/vegan options that were delicious. The wait was a little long but well worth it. Definitely get their maple, mayo. I asked if they bottled and sold it, but as of now, they don’t (maybe next time they will be). Either way, don’t miss out on this delicious food!

My food was very good. I recommend the wings and the salads. Both were very good. However wife’s food was not as good. She ordered the crab cake. (Mostly breading — not a lot of crab). And the Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was very bland. We recommend that they add celery seed to their cole slaw to add some flavor.

We visited the Dack Shack after looking for somewhere outside the main Placid strip and previewing the menu options online. It sounded good, so we gave it a shot. The food overall was decent for what it was. Fresh cut fries are always a plus. Burgers were decent, french dip was good. The wings as a “single portion” only gave 8 (most used to give 10). The biggest downfall is the unannounced charge for a refill on soft-drink. Asked if wanted a refill on pepsi, we said yes. Little did we know it was a $1.00 charge per refill. Are you kidding me? Restaurants make so much on pop as is, no reason to charge. Plus, despite asking for separate checks, they automatically added $18% tip with no mention for parties 6 or more being charged for gratuity automatically. A huge disappointment on an otherwise decent establishment. Prices seems nice until you are nickel & dimed. Watch what you order.

Oh man! Best lobster roll this far west of the east coast! Yummy crab cakes as well! Great indoor or outdoor dinning. Our favorite place to go in Lake Placid. Right next store is Simply gourmet…oh so yummy…sandwiches, salads, premade homemade food!

In lake placid for the day. Time was getting late and we needed to eat something. Found the Dack Shack and gave it a try. We ordered the fish tacos and they were great. A bit spicy but very good. I would go back again and might tomorrow.
