Love the food. Generous banchan. The short rib with cheese is so yummy. Usually I try avoid food with too much cheese but this is an exception. Spicy cold noodle also yummy. Price is quite high.

Went here for lunch, and this place is nice. When you enter, you have to scan a qr code to see the menu.

Kalbijjim is one of those meals that I dream of so it’s always such a treat to finally get some. Daeho is popular for a reason cause they do the dish well for a larger establishment that’s starting to get more locations.

My favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. Feels very authentic—with heavy metal chopsticks, cups, etc.

Tried the Daeho naengmyun which is a unique and smart take on a Korean summer classic.

Overpriced for the quality and taste. Braised short rib with oxtail Galbijimm ($82) with extra cheese ($5), they torch the cheese on top of the short rib on a bed of vegetables. Not that much meat, and one taste of the sauce, you can tell the over load of sugar. You will feel off after eating this because it is just so sweet and not worth the price. The seafood bibimbap only had TWO shrimps. No idea why it’s called seafood bibimbap with two pieces of shrimp. The presentations of the foods are good, looks cool. But the taste is not it, better to spend your money on better food. The total for the two entrees comes out to $145 after tips. We had leftovers since the cheese, meat, rice was super filling, it is $1 extra for the packaging of leftovers.

An immaculate Korean restaurant in the heart of downtown San Mateo. I kinda felt like I was in Seoul or LA Koreantown. The food is sooo good. Try the yukhe (raw beef) appetizer if you’ve never tried it. The small galbi jjim can feed 3-4 normal people, even though it says 2-3. Service is friendly, helpful, and patient. Finally, we’d ordered takeout a few times before. We finally got to dine in for lunch mid-week and avoided any wait time. The takeout is amazing, but the dine-in is next level!

Get here early for dinner if you can to join the Yelp Waitlist – there is almost always a wait here. The waitlist determines when you will join another line to preorder your food before being seated and then the service is extremely quick to bring it out to you after you are actually seated. It’s usually pretty crowded and loud both with people and workers running around inside unless you go at lunchtime.

The beef rib is so good! Must get the cheese! It’s very filing and heavy and a bit on the sweet side so you won’t be able to eat much of it.

Be mindful with the yelp check in, once you get the text you should like up to order the food and they will bring you in after. The service was great and food came out on less than 10 mins. The spicy level is not that bad so with mild it was barely spicy. The beef rib soup was salty but still flavorful and the beef was tender.
