Our first time here yesterday, Saturday just before 5pm. We got seated right away and was not too crowded. We ordered a big hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice, spring rolls and crispy shrimp in like a sweet garlic sauce which comes with plain white rice or veg fried rice, we got the white rice. The service was good and our waiter was nice. The only thing is, my fried rice has NO taste, there is no vegetables, scallions, onions in it, just some chicken and red whole chilly in it because I asked for it to be spicy, which by the was in no way spicy at all. The shrimp and soup were good, but not great. The menu is big and I’m sure other dishes on there are good, but I’m just giving my honest reviews from what we ordered and the taste. Not sure if I will give them a try again.

Yum Yum Dai Tung! Those are the first few words that roll off my tongue, and the rest of the flavors, are deep inside my soul. This was my second time back to this fabulous place. The first time, I was so overwhelmed with the savory flavors, the size of the portions, the ambience, and the staff, I forgot to take pictures and write a review. The first time around, I ordered steamed chicken with broccoli, vegetable, lo mein, orange, chicken, and chicken fried rice. I definitely recommend all those dishes just mentioned as they were super savory, brought to the table, so warm and fresh, and most of all, no flooded in sauces. The second time around, I ordered almond chicken, chicken with Chinese vegetable, beef with Chinese vegetables, an order of fluffy white rice, and an order of fried rice. Those three dishes I just mentioned were made with love, served warm and quickly, and we can’t forget about that delicious wonton soup. Hands down, the best Chinese food in Mission TX. Stop by and have yourself a fix of the good stuff. If my review was helpful to you, click on the thumbs up, tab, or like, and let me know how I’m doing. Don’t forget to follow me for upcoming hotspot reviews. Until then, munch away.

I selected from the lunch special menu and was pleasantly surprised. When compared to similar lunch specials elsewhere Dai Tung of Mission wins hands down…quality of food, serving size (extremely generous), taste (amazing) and customer service (fast, kind and courteous). Definitely worth the trip.

I went to dinner the other day with a good friend of mine, we went to eat at Dai Tung of Mission. It’s a small little restaurant with a alot to choose from on the menu. It’s located on Shary road just south of 495. Once seated we ordered our usual iced teas. After going over the menu,( undecided) and narrowing it down to one dish I opted for the Basil Chicken and ordered some fried cream cheese wontons for a starter. My friend ordered the Shrimp, Chicken, Beef with vegetables (combo). He also ordered a bowl of egg drop soup. The soup and the wontons came first. My friend loved the soup, it came with fried wonton wrappers. I thought my fried wontons were boring, just plain cream cheese. A little scallions mixed in would have gone a long way to hooking it up with some needed flavor. There was a sweet and sour sauce that came with it, but I really wasn’t feeling it. The plates arrived steaming hot, as well as, the rice. Everything looked so fresh and I saw jalapenos in mine, I was like “Oh Yeah” my first bite I got a good taste of the basil, my second bite bland. I started looking for more basil for flavor bites. Once the basil leaves were gone so was the flavor My friend made the same comment, he said it really needed something. The rice was steamed perfectly, and my friend’s fried rice didn’t look fried at all. Overall I wasn’t too impressed and honestly, I can make better tasting Chinese food, way better. I won’t be going back. The portions are great, but what good is that, if all you end up with is a big plate of unflavorful food.

Love this place! Great flavors, big portions and reasonably priced. They know how to perfectly cook shrimp. Chicken was very tender (maybe dark meat) and not dried out.

Dai Tung has exceptional cuisine that is full of flavors and cooked to perfection. We arrived at this location early evening and did not wait for a table. We placed our drink order and immediately recieved them and after a thorough review of the menu we continued to place our dinner items. Quick note, dinner plates are huge and recomend sharing! Our food was promptly delivered and temperatures were just right. The noodles,lo-mein, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Sha-Cha triple delight was very tasty and had so many spice notes that just make you happy! Hunan chicken was just as pleasant as the rest. We had hoped to take pictures but it was extremely dark in there at the time and having our flash would have disturbed our company around us. That seemed to be the only draw back was that the lighting was so dim and hard to see. Food and service was above average but interior was very dark.

The food was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice but the owner was horrible. No customer service, he tossed my card after charging me and I told him he was being rude and he didn’t care. I’ll never come back again. Chopstix is way better

I decided to give it another chance, but I was quickly reminded of what turned me off about this restaurant in the first place: the service! I was there for 27 minutes waiting to get a drink order, but a server never showed up to my table. Mind you, they were perhaps at 40% capacity at most, yet couldn’t so much as get us our drinks. We decided to walk out, and the manager looked at us nonchalantly, not caring to even ask why.

My wife and I have always liked Dai Tung in Mission. Atmosphere is nice, dark, quiet. Service is prompt. Food is good, although my wife didn’t care for the egg rolls, but I did so I ate hers. We usually order the chicken almond. Large portion – we both couldn’t finish it and ate about half. The meal comes with soup – we go the egg drop which was delicious. We always return here when in the area.
