Doesn’t take credit cards! So I had to run to an ATM and charged $2.50 to use said ATM! So go back to join my friend at the restaurant and the girl at the counter was very impersonal. To the owner- how about get with this century and pay for a credit card machine? Oh you don’t want to have to pass that cost onto your customers? How about the fact that you’re already incurring the cost to nonlocals who have to go through what I had to deal with? Running through town im not familiar with searching for an atm. Getting robbed $2.50 because someone doesn’t feel like joining this century. If my friend hadn’t already ordered I would have left and not come back.

I love going to the dairy dipper when I’m on the road going through astoria. They have awesome cheese-rites and I think some of the best ice cream in the area. It’s well worth a stop if ur traveling through the area.

Service is usually quick and friendly. The food is really good but prices are a little high. Like most places they have no choice but to raise their prices with their costs going up. I would recommend this place. Their catfish dinners and garden pizzas are excellent!

Pleasant small town ice cream and fast food establishment. Prices are very reasonable. For example, currently a 1/3 pound cheeseburger sells for $3.99 where they are easily $1 to $3 higher elsewhere. The staff usually consists of young local kids who are prompt and courteous. There is outside seating in the back. I would offer one suggestion. I mentioned earlier how the prices are reasonable. There is in my opinion at least one exception. I ordered a side of fried mushrooms for $3.09. I received a total of six medium sized mushrooms. As these are the frozen, poured from a bag variety, I think it would be reasonable to receive eight to ten mushrooms as a side. Just a thought. Otherwise everything was very good. Good food, friendly employees, short wait time, and a clean restaurant.

We stopped in here, not expecting too much. Astoria is a small town with only three dining places, and only two that stay open all day. Thinking that this was just an ice cream place, we were surprised to see a short but interesting list of dinner menu items. We always try to order the daily special, how can you go wrong? Today it was a deep fried catfish filet w/bread, onions, slaw, and cheese fries. Food was delicious! Fish and fries were done to perfection. Though the fillets might not have been the utmost quality (from a distributing truck somewhere), the preparation and presentation was top notch. The waitress staff was super friendly, and stopped in frequently to see how we were doing and offering to refill drinks. We never saw one of the 4-5 teenage girls on their cell phones…they were all business! A very, very pleasant experience. We recently bought a cabin-in-the-woods nearby. Astoria is close, and will be back often.

Stopped while on trip, sign on door said to call in our order and pick it up at drive-in window. Called number in window multiple times, busy signal, no answer, though could see someone watching us from inside. Didn’t get through, left.

Ok… I consider myself to be a Banana shake connisuer. I literally have had shakes in five different continents. Not only is their Banana shake off the chart, but the service and value is outstanding. Definitely worth the trip !!!!

This place was built in 1951, they have a variety of ice cream dishes, as well as maidrites, fries, onion rings, soda, ice tea, have eaten there many times as a child, and the food is still good.
