I went to the Dairy Queen in Rice Lake because I wanted to get some fresh Dilly bars. The previous night I had been to the Dairy Queen in Chetek and I found out they now having the dilly bars shipped in instead of making them in the stores. This really disappointed me. Until I went to the Rice Lake Dairy Queen and found out they’re still hand making their own. So I was very happy with that but I’m sure the company itself won’t let them for very long. This location really needs to have an inspection. I have never seen a Dairy Queen as dirty and disgusting as this one. A good 2 day shut down to clean this place could do wonders. I will not be back for fear of food poisoning.

I have been going to this location for years now, and I can confidently say that this place has the worst service/ workplace competence I have ever seen. The employees do not wear gloves, nor do they follow the most simplistic instructions. They hire employees only retain the bare minimum to do their work. Not to mention the fact that they’ve been hiring several individuals who are many years below the legal working age.

Drive through that was the longest wait I have ever had. 45 minutes. If they are unable to hire anyone. Maybe the new owners should come and work with there workers in chetek…. sorry I work in fast food and we all have happy customers. Get them or in less than 5 minutes. Even with just 2 people closing

I don’t like leaving bad reviews and this place doesn’t even deserve a full star but I have been to through the Chetek drive thru multiple times and same things happens. Long wait, which I understand if the food was cooked properly but when you see 5 people “working” they should get things done correctly. Maybe if they worked instead of standing around it would be more efficient. Food might actually be hot and not under the warmer. Everyone hates hard frys, soggy toast and Luke warm chicken strips especially when they never remember the ranch. This location needs help! 1) Food should be Hot 2) Food Order should be correct 3) When ordering something you, say it when order is placed not after you waited a long time for food to come you decide to say you are out. Lastly, Do you really sell that many chicken tender baskets to ALWAYS be sold out of gravy? I’ve been there when they open, midday and evening and it’s always the same response. We are out. Did you even try to look? I love also when asking for a missing item the Eye Rolls or the exaggerated ughhh we get from the young girl. I ordered pretzels with warm queso last time and they couldn’t even heat up the queso!

I really don’t like to leave bad reviews but this is the worst Dairy Queen (or any other restaurant) I’ve ever been to. I have been to this Chetek location several times and every time i leave saying i will never go back. The food is really pricy and takes forever to get. When you do get your meal it’s always disappointing. Seems like the owner is not interested in customer service at all. Really, if you want great ice cream at a decent price go to the North Lakes drive in or to the new ice cream shop in town.
