Drive thru person was rude. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I’ve been here a different time and the service was ok. Not exceptional, but better

The staff is always friendly. Service is quick even when busy. The ice cream is pretty good however the burgers are sub par. Dry overcooked beef patties. The chicken strip basket is decent but the butter flavored oil toast is disgusting.

We went in on Friday Aug 19, around dinner time. There did not appear to be anyone supervising the high school age team that was working. They were busy, and several times were going around the restaurant trying to find who had ordered the food that was prepared. A red haired girl, with a nose ring announced to the entire restaurant that she would appreciate it if everyone could throw away their own trash as it was “not her job” to do so. As a business manager in the same community, I really wanted to correct her customer service skills. Those young people need supervision.

They don’t give you bacon but charge you for it and they think plain means add ketchup

My mother, son and I stopped at Dairy Queen yesterday on our way through town from visiting my grandparents (as we always DID), and this time we ordered two chicken strip baskets. I go through the drive thru and everything seems fine. I stop before pulling out into the street and hand my mom her basket. When she opens it, I hear her say “oh gross!” I ask what and she shows me. So, I immediately opened my basket. Not only were these the equivalent of MAYBE a chicken finger (I wish I’d taken pictures) they had been in a warmer for what appeared to be HOURS. I took a left and pulled back in to go inside and complain. I’m not normally one to do that, but these were horrible. Now the good part: I walk back in and the girl at the drive thru starts to say, “That guy that just came through here”, and at just that moment I came into view and we locked eyes and I said “This guy?” Talk about a deer in headlights! She immediately turned away from me and then walked to the back. To which I chuckled and said “yeah, this guy” as someone else came walking to the counter. She asked what the problem was? I opened one of the baskets and took the “strips” out one by one and said, “This is unacceptable, I want my money back.” “I need a refund!” and walked away. While I waited the girl making a shake turned around and looked at me and laughed. Not sure why. Her co-worker being busted running her mouth? Something to do with my person? The world may never know. A different girl came up to give me my refund and she was perfectly pleasant (keep her around! The rest? Not so much). Even asked if I would like a replacement, but at that point? I declined. While I was talking with her, someone (who I believe was the manager) came up to the counter and stared me down a bit before grabbing the baskets and turning around, without a word. Pretty sad. We’ve been coming to this Dairy Queen for LITERALLY 25+ years, and it ended yesterday. Thanks for that.
