Ordered a pick up order to be ready at 708pm. This was the 4th if July. App said store closed at 930. Seems reasonable. We arrive at 705pm to pick up order. The Lobby is closed. We have to get in the drive thru line. At 740pm we are told the food would not be remade because we chose to just now show up for it. We waited for over 30 minutes in the drive thru for cold food and was then blamed for being late. You accept an order to be picked up at 708 but close the lobby an hour early and you had at least 6 employees that I could see standing around doing nothing.

This DQ location consistently gives quality service with food that meets expectation. I have ordered custom ice cream cakes and the regular night time snack. It has always been satisfying. Also, they have really pretty azalea bushes and stunning rocks to admire in the drive-thru.

So, I have limited expectations of fast food restaurants in general. Dairy Queen is one that I do enjoy every now and then. Even as a fine dining chef I am not that picky. I like a good burger. I ate at this location a couple weeks ago and I must say the outcome was absolutely appalling from any sort of a food handling standpoint. I was not in the kitchen so I cannot say for sure what happened. Either poor handwashing, poor sanitation practices, or cross contamination, or they held the food beyond its allotted hold times. Or worse a combination of factors if not all of the ones listed above.

Really immature employees… What I ordered was out of service (understandable), but when I sighed out of disappointment the worker mocked my disappointment and sighed back at me and said “oh I know it’s just soooo disappoining” among some other catty comments and then I heard her snickering with her coworkers through the speaker.

I had previously rated this dairy Queen on River Road, less than one stars I am now amending that to four stars⭐⭐⭐⭐ mainly because through the drive-thru, despite the long line it was fairly quick. The burgers that were ordered were cooked correctly had fresh vegetables on them. the buns were soft. Overall a good presentation. Fries were hot and they had 4 people working in or around the drive thru window. Good job! The #1 combo is a deal. Go try it. If you found this review to be helpful please like it. ,,
