Our menu changes often and features seafood only dishes. Most items are dairy and gluten-free.
We do not offer any a la carte dining options

We can NOT accommodate a Vegan diet or a vegetarian that does not eat food cooked in seafood broth.

Exceptional experience from start to finish. We did the 7-course prix fixe meal. Private and group seating is available, but make a reservation early, especially if you want a private table. Everyone is seated at the same time, and the owner starts the evening by greeting everyone and explaining the significance of each dish on the menu, tying it back to their experiences in Senegal and the link to New Orleans culture and local produce. The co-owner that hosted while I visited was so warm and welcoming, and made sure to go to each table throughout the evening and introduce herself, get to know them, and thank them for coming. It made the evening feel so intimate and special.

Dakar was beautiful from start to finish. Amazing staff, food, and atmosphere. If you are a foodie you must try Dakar! One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. This is not dinner this is an experience. The head chef Serigne is so humble and kind. If you’re only going to have one dinner in NOLA this is the one!

Chef Serigne Mbaye was recently nominated for a James Beard award and for good reason, his food is delicious. The cooking techniques were flawless and the service was excellent as well. We visited Dakar on a Wednesday night when they are serving the prix fixe menu inspired by the food his mother cooked. It’s three courses including salad, entrée and dessert. They also have several small plates available to add to your meal. The street corn, pictured below, was one of those items. They are in the process of acquiring their liquor license so make your reservation and bring a nice bottle of wine. See you there!

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The entire experience from the moment we walked in the door was perfect. Don’t worry about the flickering lights, we were assured the place isn’t haunted. There was so much attention to detail in every dish. They even peeled the skin off the tomatoes! The entire staff was so warm and welcoming. You can tell everyone is passionate about delivering a great experience. The chef explained every dish and took time to talk to everyone individually.

Our monthly Ladies Supper Club met for dinner this evening. And Ohhhh myyyy!! Everything was really really good up!!! We enjoyed ourselves tremendously… Hats off to THE CHEF the SERVICE was par excellence. And OMG the FOOD was AAAAAMAZING The place is so relaxing and fun at the same time HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Run, don’t walk, to Dakar NOLA. Everything about the meal was exquisite. Of course the food was exquisite. Traditional Senegalese dishes with a touch of New Orleans and with moving stories behind them. The dishes were beautiful and original. The recommended wine pairings (from a nearby neighborhood store) were perfect. The restaurant is warm and beautifully decorated. The service was above and beyond. Chef Mbaye and his team made us feel like family. Truly a memorable meal!
