Wanted to try something different without having to get too far off 59S on my road trip. Found Damon’s highly rated and in a good spot. Nice little location with fans and shade… and that bbq Mac & cheese sandwich? Oh my goodness… I’ll have to come back to check out the rest of the menu! Keep it up guys!

Hands down of of the best bbq joints in and around Houston a true hidden gem in the heart of Wharton!!! The flavor of the true smoked meats was just wow and the best sausage I have ever eaten we also had the potato casserole and it was delicious as well and a very very particular appetizer that I have never seen it in any other restaurant before and was bomb was the chicharrón (fried pork skin or like crackling) with cheese dip and the best part is that the chicharrón was made at the moment of ordering so it was still warm and fresh (where else do you get that!!!) so all the food was delicious from the ribs, brisket, sausage to the desserts everything homemade and fresh but on top of that the place was clean everything nice and neat and the staff was so nice and polite and very very welcoming believe me we eat out a lot and to get a combo like that is hard so if you’re traveling on 59 or you around Wharton give them a try and believe me you will not be disappointed and is about 5 minutes from 59 into the town but is worth it and if you like us like to adventure into small towns around Houston looking for hidden gems and don’t mind the drive we’ll go visit them you guys gonna love this place!!!

A great barbecue place with a novel menu. I had the brisket grilled cheese sandwich, and I have no complaints. The chicken enchiladas were also phenomenal! I came at the end of Father’s Day and they were sold out of half the menu. Popular place! I have to recommend their ribbon fries.

I ordered brisket, ribs and sausage to try all three. The brisket was very juicy! Lacked seasoning for sure, but could tell it was actually smoked right! The ribs were nice and big which is hard to find around this town. However, they also lacked flavor. The sausage was ok. Sides were good and the chips were great! Service at the window was wonderful! I wish y’all would add a bit more flavor and cut down a little on the fat so it’s not so greasy, my plate had a pool of juices in it. Bbq sauce I wasn’t a fan of. Lack of seasoning is easy to fix so I’ll be back with my “season all” by my side . Thank you for a good lunch!
