Okay so I love this place. I didn’t give it all 5 stars but let me explain why…

1st time visit. Prime rib sandwich with horseradish was the bomb!

Small portions at high prices. 2 pieces of catfish 13.99 plus tax. $17.00. Thought I could get a decent meal after driving all day to get freight to this town. Still ended up eating at the truck stop.

Went in to try their brisket. We were not disappointed. The brisket fell apart in your mouth. Be sure to check it out if you are in the Ponca City, OK area.

Danny’s catered for our wedding event at Wentz Camp. Beverly was terrific to work with to setup the menu and then their team delivered everything we needed, including the banquet table setup. The food was fantastic and 2nd place behind the bride and groom in the wedding lineup! Thank you Danny’s!

The ribs taste like they have been PRE-COOKED and FROZEN. I had the Sampler(3 small ribs, 2 slices of ham, 4 small slices of brisket and 1 hot link) Ribs were a bit tough, the ham was tasty as were the thick but small slices of Brisket. The hot link was not very good, low quality and only hot because it was full of seeds and hard pieces that almost breaks a tooth if you’re not careful. The baked beans were delicious but their “side portion” is very small. The seasoned fries would have been better had they not been sitting under a couple of heat lamps for a while. They offered me fresh fries which is a plus but if you are willing to serve me cold fries, I’m going to take that in to account. The BBQ Sauce is bottles of Head Country, which is a good BBQ sauce but better BBQ places MAKE THEIR OWN. Overall, could be better, have had much worse.

Just spent 6 weeks in Kansas City and ate at many of their bbq places there. Some were good some just ok. Working my way back home and stopped in Ponca City and always wanted to try this place. Staff was very polite and professional. I had ribs and a side of beans. Ribs were delicious, genuine smoke flavor and not served marinated in sauce which I like. However the sauce I had head country is by far the best there is. They also gave me a sample of a new flavor with honey. Fantasy as well. Might be my new favorite. Anyways was much tastier than any of the bbq I had up north. Reasonably priced to boot. Just wish they had a option for a med side of beans instead of the one they offer or a pint. Worth the stop. Will definitely be back when traveling through

Brisket tasted like roast beef. No bbq flavor. Ribs were decent. Beans tasted like out of can. Devil eggs bland. Nice atmosphere.

Danny’s is place that when you walk in you think you’ve found your small town bbq spot . It’s not until after you get your food you realize instead it’s like one of those spots that is on those shows that someone comes in to save. It has amazing potential! But the dry well bbq experience just makes the quality that their meat might have immediately go down. Im not sure how long it had been holding but when we got it the food was mid warm and we had to ask for a different side of mac and cheese because of the tempature. Overall the place was nice and the staff was great but the food was an overall let down.

I had the sampler plate. All the meat was delicious. Baked beans were so-so, potato salad was good. My wife had the fish. She said it was some of the best fish she’s had. If I’m back in Ponca, we’ll definitely go back
