Took a friend out for her birthday breakfast. Darrell’s on Wedgewood Lane in the Villages is the restaurant she chose. We arrived at 10, expecting the morning rush to be finished. Two waitresses and a cook were on duty. Few customers, yet we waited 45 minutes for our eggs and toast. Tabletop was shamefully dirty. The Darrell’s on 301 in Wildwood is folksy, clean and staff is attentive — one of my favorites. But I will never bother with the Wedgewood eatery again.

Always our first choice for breakfast or brunch. We appreciate the friendly Customer Service, delicious and the reasonably priced food. We always feel welcomed! We actually live closer to another Darrell’s Diner, but prefer this location for it’s consistency in efficient service and excellent food! It’s our “go-to” place.

My Cheesesteak sandwich could have been seasoned a bit better. I added pepper to it and it was fine. Also I asked the server if my bread would be toasted and buttered, she said yes. However, it arrived at my table without butter. This was a little disappointing since I purposefully asked this up front. She took it to the kitchen and they swiped some room temperature butter on one side of my bread. I wasn’t thrilled but I made this work. Later on, it took her a while to bring our check.

Good food, service is super friendly but when they are crowded it does take a minute for the food to come out. The omelets are incredibly delicious! It’s a bit close as far as the tables go so if your a tad claustrophobic don’t go during busy times. Overall kudos for a delicious brunch for us!

Just had breakfast here this morning at 7:30 am. Had a fasting appointment at the laboratory next door (another great experience as well!), and was definitely needed to eat something as quick as possible. Place was nice and clean, super friendly server and helpful servers. My food came quickly and I didn’t even tell them I was fasting or had to go to work! I had the 3 eggs with bacon, potatoes, English muffin and coffee. Everything was delicious! Will definitely visit again.
