Darrell’s Place in Hamlin, IA is a great Mom & Pop place with great food. If it’s your first visit, do yourself a favor and go with their award winning Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich (the onion rings are pretty good too)

I had prime rib, potato salad, and a side salad. Everything was perfect. Mom is in the hospital so we had her little dog with us, but we were able to eat at a picnic table in a nearby (well kept) park. One of the staff helped us carry food over there. I didn’t take any pictures, but the food really was very good. Homemade (?), real buns. Everyone was happy with the food. It’s on a paved, but little bit rough (needs resurfacing) bike trail.

Great pork tenderloin! They also have a great salad bar. It was busy even at 1:30pm. Great service. Very clean. We will definitely go back whenever we are in that area.

Tenderloin was good but not really flavorful. Servers were busy but did well! Like coming here but it is loud, crowded and not relaxing. Still, it was so much better than the last time we were here! We’ll be back.
