Davenport’s in Mountain Brook has always been my favorite pizza place in Birmingham. I was really excited to give the Vestavia location a try because we go to the movies over there all the time. The pizza was absolutely delicious as it has always been. The service however, was not good. We were seated at a dirty table with left over food all over it. The plates had been removed from the table but it was obviously never wiped down. I asked the server to please clean it and of course she apologized for the mess and cleaned it for us. The service was slow but not unacceptable. Once we got our pizza, my dad ordered a beer. He was done eating and it never came so he eventually canceled the order. Our waitress told us that the bar tender was “stressed out”. The way this place is set up, you can openly see the bar. The bar tender was eating.

Tried giving Davenports a couple of chances after moving back to Birmingham and the pizza is delicious, but the service was terrible on both occasions. In our most recent visit our waiter never checked on our table a single time without us having to flag her down first (twice in an hour+ of being there), after almost an hour of waiting we asked to check on our pizza to find out that another server had given it to a different table and our pizza would be remade at that point.

Great pizza! It’s a thin crust but not super thin. Still kind of doughy. Only issue with this place is that take out is usually an hour or more every time I’ve ordered, so you need to plan ahead.

Careful ordering takeout from here. Took an hour to get it and had to remind servers to throw in the ranch’s we paid for. Got the pizza home and it was cold. Pizza had likely sat for over 30 minutes. Pizza was still good, but we had to microwave it as the cheese was congealed and very cold.

Really busy St. Patrick’s friday night. Young , overwhelmed staff did a great job of keeping it going. Excellent bartending, attentive friendly server. Really tasty, thin crust, cut-into- square-pieces pizzas. Love Davenports.

Love Davenports regardless of the spot. Glad to have the new location because it is more convenient and gives me an excuse to eat their awesome pies with greater frequency. Haven’t suffered from any service failures other’s describe. Never had a bad pizza. Grateful this spot is somewhat in my hood.

We have a staffing business right across the breezeway from Davenports in Vestavia. And I used to live right across the street from the MB restaurant location. We have always been a fan. The Vestavia store recently cooked about 200 pizza’s for our client drive-thru event, and they did an incredible job. Consistent and wonderful. Love having them in the neighborhood.

Awful service. My boyfriend and I came in to get a pizza. We were sat down and told that our server would be with us shortly. We waited and waited, no one ever came to take our drink orders. There’s no other customers inside, just us. About 10 minutes pass, 2 more people come in. They’re also seated and told their server will be with them shortly. After a few minutes of them being seated, one of the ladies who was working walked up to the other 2 customers and told them they’d be right back to take their drink orders. We continued to wait, but no one ever came up to us, so we walked out. This place is way too new to have this kind of service. Won’t be coming back here again.
