Stopped outside St Louis last night. After checking into motel – where the lobby was flooded due to a broken pipe – we started looking for a local restaurant. We both found Dave’s Diner. Dave’s is a local “hole in the wall” where the food is delicious! My wife had a BLT and I had Dave’s famous fried chicken. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

The servers are all extremely friendly and make sure you have what you need. Our food today was good. I did get the country fried steak sandwich for first time and do not recommend it but everything else was very good

Is the diner. Regular diner, food. Nothing special. It is decent food though. I recommend it on a late night or early morning. And a little side note, If you’re a gambler, and you like those gambling machines, Dave does own two or three of those in his restaurant. and they pay you right on the spot if it’s not early in the morning, my friend won $500 there on a machine. The server was nice, but dropped off the ticket with the food and never came back to refill drinks. Food was subpar. They were out of some food that we asked for and had to get something else instead. It’s fine that a restaurant is cash only but when there is an ATM for customers to get cash to pay for their meal that doesn’t work and you have to go to the gas station up the street is kind of ridiculous. More than likely will gone somewhere else next time.

The diner was cute and felt nostalgic. The service was ok. I had to ask for syrup when my kiddos had pancakes. Wanted Strawberry jelly but only had apple, grape and orange. Those are very weird flavors. Had a western omelet and it was covered with the Kraft American Cheese, seemed very tacky. Hashbrowns were very mushy underneath. The waitress were accommodating but you had to literally ask for anything and everything.

Reallly good service and amazing food. Usually a restaurant is able to provide some or one really good item, but as a whole everything was SO good. We got chicken, fries, waffles, pancakes, home fries, sausage, bacon, etc. it was all amazing.

The mashed potatoes were like glue and a little off tasting and the “white gravy”had no flavor except for paste and flour. The corn was not seasoned, actually everything was soooo bland, like hospital food. The chicken was the only thing that was salty..almost too salty and the oil tasted like it was close to changing it out for fresh oil. The place itself appeared very clean, nice service and prices are very reasonable. I myself would not go out of my way to go there, but we do like to support local businesses.
