In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The food was delicious!!! 11/10 recommend. We got the sliders and a side of Mac n Cheese as pictured below. I give 4 stars for a few reasons. Upon walking in, it was extremely cold. I usually like it cool but that was cold like a morgue! Reason number two, the service was a bit unwelcoming. Lastly, the tables were not clean as well as employees in the back using their phones while making food. Not very hygienic.

Food is always great at Dave’s. Stopped with the family on the way to the beach. Cashier was not the friendliest one. Could not find a clean table although most of the restaurant was empty, had to clean one myself so we could eat. For a fast food that asks for tips when you order the employees should do more. I won’t be stopping at Dave’s any time soon because of this tipping nonsense, it’s a fast food not a restaurant where you get table service.

Personally I love the tenders, sliders, and sandwiches. Also, they give you a lot, the tenders are really big, and the Dave’s sauce is so good, I love everything and definitely go their when I go to Wilmington

I ordered two hot box 10 piece tenders. 10 of hot and 10 of extra hot. I do enjoy Dave’s Hot Chicken but the guy that took our order made the trip worth it. My wife and I drove 100 miles to get there and another 100 to get back home. I’ve been craving Dave’s Hot Chicken and appreciate the service that I was given. This is a picture of the 10 piece box after we’ve already eaten some.

My family got the sliders, and I got the tenders. The medium spice level was perfect, although I could easily have kicked it up a notch! Chicken was juicy and very flavorful. The gentleman that took our order was extremely nice and made our experience wholly positive and lovely. The atmosphere is very cool, and the restaurant itself was clean as could be. The sole complaint that I have is that the fries are just okay. If I could make a suggestion, I would say that a different style of fry would be better, something with more crunch! Overall, very cool restaurant with excellent food, INCREDIBLE service, and I am looking forward to my next visit!

First time in with friends (8/17 around 4pm) and the food was great but I wanted to take a moment and say how amazing the woman working the register was. She made sure everything was perfect and I saw her cleaning and straightening everything to a T. Truly she went above and beyond and should be a manager without a doubt. If she hasn’t already she deserves a raise for sure because good help like that is certainly hard to find. I wish I got her name but if she is reading this thank you! 🙂

1st time trying it, the food is decent. I think the meal should come with a drink. $13 for 2 tenders and fries with no drink is crazy to me. Also they should have different sauce to choose from because everyone don’t like the Dave’s sauce. I had to go to a different restaurant to get sauce because a chicken tender just aint right without a good dipping sauce. The cashier was very friendly and helpful.

The only sauce option they have is Dave’s Sauce. Which tastes great on both the chicken and the crispy fries. Not the cheapest prices for fried chicken though. The 2 PC tender meal comes with fries and white bread. The slide meal comes with 1 tender, 1 slider and fries. Both meals where around $12 ( not including drinks). Drinks are a separate fee.The chicken portions and fries are filling. There and several heat levels to choose from. I chose medium which I felt was comfortable. If you don’t like heat or spice stay under medium. I felt the chicken was more on the greasy side which is why only 4 stars. And for a chicken meal with plain bread and no drinks included the price was sort of high. but the food and sauce are good and the urban street interior is cool.
