In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

When it comes to soul-warming comfort food, Dave’s Hot Chicken undoubtedly takes the crown. My recent visit to this culinary haven left me impressed with their tantalizing array of sliders, tenders, mac & cheese, and shakes. This place is amazing! Juicy and tasty chicken sandwiches. Had this for the first time and very simple I will be back! Great flavor and very filling. Everyone was friendly just wish the place was slightly bigger. Other than that awesome.

Place is pretty solid. It tastes just like the one in LA. The service was great. Food came out on time. And most of all, they were friendly and ready to educate about the menu. The restaurant could use some more busing because our table was sticky but other than that, this location keeps up with all the other ones in town. I would highly recommend you get the hot flavor and eat it with honey, that’s the best combination. Also, they were nice enough to give water cups. And more more additional point, even though the line was long and out the door, they were able to take everyone’s order quickly

The medium is the best balance of heat and flavor, the fries stay crunchy even after colling down. But the coleslaw was pretty flavorless, it was just mayonnaise and vegetables, no black pepper, no celery seeds, no salt or sugar. The extra hot spice isn’t a flavor, it’s just heat. And it sits there for too long. I recommend two large milkshakes to counter the heat and some extra pickles. The milkshake was McDonald’s level, nothing crazy. Reasonably priced in naperville, so a little pricey, good portions though, very filling. $10 for a tray of fries

When you’re looking for comfort food with a flare, Dave’s Hot Chicken is the place to go. Purchased meals with tenders and sliders; each had great flavor, with us purchasing the “medium” and “hot”. Above average portions are included with each meal, given the fries/cheese fries. Food was prepared in a fair amount of time. The seasonings didn’t have as much “heat” as expected… so will try a notch higher next time. Overall would recommend.

Been here only twice. Not a frequent visitor unfortunately, would visit more if the value was there. Stopped in today for my second visit and remembered why It took me so long to come back… It’s just one man’s opinion but for the amount of chicken you get in a one or two tender basket I feel the value is just not there. Looking at the rest of the reviews I seem to be one of the few who has mentioned the value is not good so take my opinion with a grain of salt I guess. With their location in a trendy strip mall that is part of a large AMC movie theater complex in Naperville I’m betting their rent is around $5K a month for that tiny little store, so I get it… but you get at least twice as much chicken anywhere else for the price. I did the Reaper flavor 1 slider and one tender meal this time, the pictures posted by others are 90% accurate to what my basket looked like. It was one tenderstrip that covered slightly more than half of the piece of Wonder bread it was served on with pickles and a side of sauce, the slider was on a bun about the same footprint as the piece of white bread, bun heelchickenkale slawsaucepicklesbun crown to make the slider. The basket came with some very tasty crinkle cut fries, although also not nearly enough fries either for the price in my opinion. There was probably about 15 individual fries total in the corner of my basket, and plenty of open real estate in the bottom of the basket. The fries were delicious, and the “Reaper” rubseasoning was delicious as well, I will give the taste of everything a 4, tenders would be a solid 5 but neither of my tenders were particularly meaty nor moist, if they were big juicy meaty tenders with that Reaper seasoning they would be a solid 5. The taste of the food adds some value but in my opinion not enough to make up for the cost. You can add tendersstrips for $4.69 each or add a slider for $6.69 each if you desire. I just can’t help but see it all broken down to basics where I paid $13+ tax or just over $14 for a piece of white bread, a small bun, about 15 fries 10 or so thin sliced pickle slices and two average sized chicken tenders. No drink with that either. I liked the food… I did, the cost… Not so much. Looks like the menu has changed and the prices have gone up more than a dollar since some other reviewers posted a menu with pricing in their reviews.

The chicken is always fresh and tasty. Mixing up the Dave’s sauce with the honey is a game changer. My usual order is either 2 slides and fries or one slider and tender with fries. I love spicey food so I normally get hot.

Some like hot! This place was so good! We ordered two meals, the tender meal & the slider meal!! The slider meal was our favorite!! Perfect size, nice piece of chicken on the slider, the sauce, OH MY HEAVENS, and the slaw & pickles were perfect!! Absolutely yummy!! The tender meal was awesome too! Two huge, thick, nice pieces of white meat chicken too!! We loved it, we will be back when we are in this area! My kid’s would love this place too, so I’m taking them for hot tenders next, let’s go!! I posted this place on my Facebook & everyone was like where is this place, so yep I just put a ton of people on Dave’s Hot Chicken too!!
