In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We tried Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time last week. They only have either chicken tenders or sliders, but they make them extremely well. They have four combos in total: Combo 1 consists of 2 tenders served with crinkle cut fries, sliced bread, pickles, and Dave’s house sauce; Combo 2 consists of 2 sliders served with crinkle cut fries, Kale slaw (one of the best coleslaws we have tried till date), pickles, and Dave’s house sauce; Combo 3 consists of 1 tender + 1 slider served with crinkle cut fries, sliced bread, Kale slaw, pickles, and Dave’s house sauce; Combo 4 consists of 1 slider served with crinkle cut fries, Kale slaw, pickles, and Dave’s house sauce. The crinkle cut fries are well-seasoned too. You have the option to choose spice levels from no spice, light mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper. Once you pay after ordering, they will call out your number and the waiting time was about 15 minutes. They do take credit card, debit card, and Apple Pay. Overall, we highly recommend coming here if you have a soft spot for chicken tenders or spicy sliders. The house sauce they use on the chicken is so delicious and the seasoning on the fries is awesome. You can also request for their special “Dave’s House Sauce” which is amazing. They don’t take online orders, so you need to be present physically either at drive-thru or at the restaurant itself to order food. They serve HALAL chicken and the halal certificate is placed near the paying counter. ☺️

We got sliders, spicy and medium. The chicken was spiced really well and the chicken breast was tender. The pickles, slaw and bread were GREAT too. It’s SALTY!! Get an extra water to help yourself out later, or if you get the spicy sandwich.

ordered #1 lite mild & #4 hot. my kids said the tenders were too spicy they didnt eat it. slider was ok.. nothing spectacular. tenders are way overpriced. came in around 6pm.. only 2 other people in the waiting area so wait wasnt too bad.

Great deals and great food. We had one of the combo options during our visit and I was delicious. Choose you spicy level and enjoy your chicken sandwich. Conveniently located near Fieldworks, if you want to go there before or after your meal at Dave’s!

This place is very good- note that their spice levels are ACCURATE. Most places their spicy isn’t spicy (to people who like spicy food) and the *extra* spicy is what you should get. Here that is not the case! I got the a Chicken Slider with Fries and it was delicious. They have my personal favorite fries of anywhere.
