In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Listen. I’ve never given a chain restaurant 5 stars, albeit it’s not a huge chain YET but it’s growing fast. This. Is. Legit. Fire. It was my first time here and I wanted to get several things to share. What brought me in was TikTok ads for Dave’s Not Chicken, their cauliflower version. I got the mild on that. We also got the slider and strip combo (medium) with fries. Also had a side of Mac n cheese. I wasn’t sure how hot these were gonna be but it was great for my first time. Massive spices in a fabulous way. I tend to like about medium heat for most things and this was pretty on point. Y’all… The magic though is to dip that chicken or not chicken in the Dave’s sauce then drizzle on the honey. I repeat, drizzle that honey. Taste buds blown. I equally loved the chicken and not chicken. Who knew cauliflower could be like that?! The fries were crispy and seasoned well. That Mac and cheese was creamy and I couldn’t stop eating it. On top of all that, it was decently priced, especially for this crazy inflation – I paid about $25 for all of it! The staff were working their tails off and cranking out the orders. They were wiping tables down pretty fast as people left. I can’t wait to be back .

Parking is tight and the staff were polite and helpful. But the table was sticky and dirty as were many other things. The outside dining area was hotter than inside area. The savings grace is the chicken was moist and delicious with a great spicy coating and the Dave’s sauce is very tasty. But with eight young people working, you would think that they would clean the tables better.

This chicken is so good. “Hot” is legit. Perfect spice level every time. Order the slider and add cheese. Only way to go. I love that you get extra pickles on the side. Fries are also very good. I’m not typically a fan of crinkle cut, but majority of the time I get incredibly crispy fries. The Mac and cheese is the only thing on the menu I’m not crazy about. It’s not the worst I’ve ever had but it’s not my favorite. 10/10 overall I’d eat here everyday if I could. Also, I just found out they have an app so now any time I order I get points towards free food. Love it!

Casual interior, consistent quality chicken, addictive flavor. We frequent this place at this point. Delicious and reliable, Dave’s is a family favorite at our house. I tried every spice level and enjoyed them all. Hot and Reaper are my favorite, extra hot didn’t have the same depth and complexity of flavor the others held, in my opinion, but was still good. Medium and mild still offer plenty of flavor kick for those with more sensitive pallets, and lite mild makes a great option for younger ones or those who don’t like spicy but not a lack of flavor. I highly recommend trying this of you like fried chicken. There’s something for everyone.

Had the Cauliflower Slider – was impressed! As a vegetarian, it felt nice to be able to treat myself with something that was NOT tofu but made to mimic (as best as possible) those hot, crunchy, greasy sandwiches that just sound good sometimes. I liked how CRUNCHY it was and how flavorful it was with the kale and sauce on it. I had my hesitations but was glad to try something like this. It won’t be a regular meal but a nice treat. Highly recommend to my vegetarian friends. It is not vegan friendly to those that are vegan.

Wow! I love this place. I was skeptical about trying this place up until last week. I finally gave it a shot, and boy, am I glad I did. The chicken here is amazing. The sliders are by far the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I’ve been 3 times now since trying it, and I will probably have to work more hours to pay for my new love for this chicken. . . Try it if you haven’t.
