Several people have recommended this place to my husband and I since we moved to Taylor earlier this year. We finally made it today & it did not disappoint! We had the brisket sandwiches with macaroni, corn & potato salad. The brisket was tender and so flavorful but the sides really stood out to me! This is some of the best macaroni I have ever had. The staff was also super friendly and you could tell they genuinely care about their customers. We cannot wait to return soon!

Taylor TX has some good bbq my new favorite is the brisket at Davis Grocery & BBQ. Old school counter service, homemade sides, delicious brisket. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed! They even gave my pup a sample I confess I ate Layla’s burnt ends

Just down to earth place to sample and eat great soul food. Visiting the area from NC. Searching for good Texas BBQ. Real talk, had to make a little effort to locate but worth the trip. The staff was friendly and helpful in making my selections. They allowed me to sample anything I wanted. This is not a sit-down and eat type of place but rather a takeout to eat later type of location. If you are searching for great soul food and Texas BBQ, this is the place and I promise that you will be pleased that you made the visit.

I had the 3 (brisket,pork steak,sausage) meat plate with cabbage and pinto beans. Everything was excellent flavor and cooked perfectly. The men serving were super nice and very very friendly. Home cooking great people and a wonderful small business. I would highly recommend going here for great BBQ.

Not wanting to stand in line in the 95 degree heat of central Texas, we decided to go to the other barbeque place in Taylor. This was by far the best decision that the Mrs. made the entire week. This place, I would call a hole in the wall that seemed to be visited more by the locals than the tourists. This was without a doubt the best baby back ribs I’ve had in a long time. I also sampled the brisket and sausage, also both very good. The food was so good we decided to make life easy for father’s day and get some to go and take with us back to Louisiana. Highly recommend!

The meat was dry and over smoked. A real disappointment. You have such great reviews so my expectations were a little high but it tasted like someone who knows how to cook but decided to try smoked meat for the 1st time. My guess is that the meat would be much better earlier in the day and you should just avoid going after normal lunch time since more than likely the meat is cooked early and left on the smoker all day until it’s sold out. Perhaps I just got unlucky and was served some older meat you didn’t want to throw since it was still edible. I could accept it if the price was half off later in the day for the dry over smoked meat.

I read the good reviews on this place and since the “other” BBQ place was closed already at 4pm on a Thursday I decided to come here and try it out. Boy was I in for a treat! The two gentlemen working inside were very kind and welcoming. The BBQ was very tinder and tasty! The greens though, were !!! Definitely gonna stop back by when I’m in Taylor again.
