This place is really great! Walk up a flight of stairs to the deli, and inside you’ll find a very relaxed, cozy interior with a menu that has something for everyone. I ordered the jackfruit steak with fries, the trumpet mushroom calamari, and meatball bowl. All of it was spectacularly delicious, super homey and well seasoned. I had to get some of the heart of palm Chesapeake fritters to go, as well as a gigantic peanut butter cookie and tiramisu from the dessert case.

First time eating at this restaurant and I was impressed. Everyone was upbeat and friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. I enjoyed everything we ordered and I don’t follow a Vegan diet. The lasagna was hands down my favorite! The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was also delicious.

I have been wanting to check this place out for a long time since it is one of a kind for vegans. I finally made my reservation and enjoyed the lovely decor in the botanical garden as well as the excellent customer service. Sierra and all staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and quick to attend to customers. I will say that the food and drinks were a bit disappointing. Expensive and bland. The spirit free cocktails tasted like any juice you can get in a bottle. The focaccia and ricotta was just plain bread with a marinara dipping sauce, wasn’t sure where the “ricotta spread” was. The salad had old chopped up focaccia as the croutons which was just stale dough. Each dish was lacking in a balance of flavors and texture. Basically fast food with a hefty price tag. I’m really hopeful that the menu will be revamped in the future, but all in all I’m so happy that vegans finally have a spot of their own and I’m ready to see DC Vegan spread its wings and take over!

What a fun place to enjoy brunch and some good upbeat music! The eceltic decor and the coziness adds to the charm of the restaurant. Plus the staff is very welcoming and the food and drinks are divine. I had the frittata and it was sooo good. Adding DC Vegan to my list of favorites.

First time visiting DC Vegan…the botanical bar is pretty. The drinks are okay, I just didn’t care for the Moonflower drink but the Red Corvette was great. The smell was off putting, it smelled like a sewage line was back up or something and they didn’t want to keep the door open. They lit incense but it didn’t help. Our waiter was bad. Disappeared frequently, focused a lot of attention on one particular couple and informed them that they’re getting the best service out of him, something about not really liking the customers. We were sitting right behind the couple at the bar and he spoke very loudly. I wouldn’t have cared about the gossiping about management and his partner and the activities they like doing, if he was checking on us ie provided quality customer service given he’s working in a customer centered industry. Thankfully another waiter came and helped us, explained drinks and made suggestions when the drink I wanted was out (sweet disposition, he had a ponytail, wore glasses, gosh wish I got his name, but he che. Our initial waiter only communicated with or became personable when the check came seemingly in an attempt to secure a tip. Based upon service, he wouldn’t have received a tip from me but his coworker would have, unfortunately my partner is generous to those in the hospitality field so he was tipped.

My daughter took me to DC Vegan for a birthday treat and I have to put this in my index of amazing foodie finds. Food was incredible , mocktails were creative ( mango and tumeric, aloe juice and cucumber), service was prompt , waitress was warm and friendly. Definitely sending my non vegan questioning friends here and definitely returning myself.
