This is the branch of the original restaurant in Fremont. The food is the same taste and amazing! Love the leek Bolani if you have not tried it before. It’s just like Aloo paratha but so much better and large size. The chicken kabobs are succulent and delicious! Definitely recommend this place and I will be back for sure the next time I am in the area.

1/5 star experience for me. It was my first time trying De Afghanan and first time trying afghan food in general and was very excited. It was very nice inside and we also ordered to go, unfortunately we did not even read the price and just swiped the card. We told the gentleman we wanted just meat kabob no rice no side and what we got was6 pieces of meat for the price of a whole meal $18.99. While we ordered we were clear we wanted just the meat and assumed that’s what we would be charged for. When we called to question the price we were told that was it because it was a plate despite only stating we wanted just the meat. It feels like we were taken advantage of really not sure how you can feel ok for charging that much for 6 chicken nuggets pretty much I understand times are tough and prices have gone up but that price does not feel fair at all.

Celebrating my brother in law’s birthday we decided to have a dinner at De Afghanan. Gets a bit tricky on google maps to locate it if you miss the right turn though not that big of a challenge. Good enough parking spots though can get a bit squishy in there.

I used to go to the fremont location when I lived in the East bay and I loved that locations food so when I moved to Tracy and saw they had a tracy spot I was juiced to try if. I’ve only been here 3 times in 5 years and every time I went it was for My birthday. I always go the combination kabob plate and was never disappointed in the food. It’s pricey about 20$ x plate but worth every penny. Customer services was whatever maybe since im Mexican they didn’t care much about My family and me but I don’t care as long as they do their job right in the kitchen. Atmosphere was dead every time I went, not one person was dining in but I prefer that in Afghanistan or Indian restaurants since most of the time I get ugly looks and mugs from other customers like I said probably because I’m Mexican. They’re lucky their food is good if not I’d never come back.

Sooooo good! I haven’t had Afghani food in many years and this is even better than I remember. It is sweet, savery, spicy, sour, and everything in between. If you have never had Afghani food then I HIGHLY recommend this place.

We came on a Thursday night and there were 3 other tables. The food took a while to come out, so just be prepared. We each got a chicken pea and potato appetizer for free, but I didn’t eat much because it was super sour.

Noice place, I’ve ordered a lamb shank to go. The taste was great, the portion was big, the lamb shank was well cooked and everything was tasty. It came with qabili pallow, small salad, green chutney and piece of bread. We’ve tried their chaplee kabob before and was delicious as well. A little bit pricey but like their flavors

I came in and made eye contact with several employees only to be ignored for 10 minutes as I stood near the menus. The unprofessionalism was so extreme I decided to just walk out and go to a nearby restaurant instead. Definitely would not recommend.
