First time visit and we enjoyed both our food and drinks. We got the vegetarian impossible burrito, would have been even better with more sauce or something to give it more flavor, but still good. We also got the gluten free Birria and Chicken Mole tacos and was able to get corn tortillas only for our chips and salsa trio. Chicken was the fav. We came because of the Gluten Free options and impossible meat. The Mezcalrita was great if you like mezcal and the jalapeno margarita was amazing. We will come again and bring our kids. Service was also pretty quick, and a dog friendly patio. Spent just over $60 with a tip.

The food was amazing, great atmosphere, and if you buy chips and salsa they come with refills. Love this place, we’ll be coming back again

Atmosphere is great. The frozen limeaid was way to sour, it was hard to finish. The vegetarian burrito with beyond “meat” just wasn’t that good. Also got a side of tots and idk how it’s hard for places to season them. It’s nice to come to once but I’m positive i won’t be back.

A genuine TREAT in the heart of Sugarhouse. Their food is unique, flavorful, FILLING, and some of the best in the valley (dare I say state?). I really loved the tacos and horchata I tried, and even contemplated going back for dinner! Will definitely be making this a staple on my list of fav places to go.

Went and checked this spot out before my flight home to Denver and I’m so happy I did! The vibe was on point. The wallpaper and lights were so cool!! We ordered at the kiosk, grabbed a table letter and sat down. The food came out really fast! I got some tacos and my friends got burritos and the Mexican churros. Best carne asada in Utah! SERIOUSLY, do good. I loved all the sauce options they had. My favorite was the creamy Serrano sauce. Can’t wait to go here again next time in Utah!

Everything was great. I loved all of the flavors, from the rice and beans, burrito and salsa, to the margarita and churro/ beignet. My favorite part is it wasn’t heavy, super salty, or greasy. The service was great and the atmosphere clean and inviting.

I’m a fan of tacos! And these are some of the most flavorful I’ve had in SLC. The carne asada has a nice kick and comes with guacamole which most places make you pay extra for. I’m also not usually a fan of flour tortillas for tacos but these ones are pretty great and fried nicely. Some might think they’re too oily.

Thankful to find some good food on a cold Sunday afternoon. It was a little difficult getting in, entrance looked closed to be honest. So open the gate and go in. The ordering system took a minute to maneuver. You serve your own soft drinks and get your own salsa from their offerings. They have some specialty drinks available. I ordered a pineapple jalapeños margarita. It was good, a little too sweet and not enough spice for me. Chips and salsa were good. I ordered the Carne Asada tacos platter. Very tasty. The black beans were great – they do hold some heat.

So we are kind of stuck in town due to a family member in the hospital. We are pub fooded out, so we wanted to try something different. Mexican food sounded good, but on Sunday, some restaurants were closed and others had low ratings. Then I noticed De Los Muertos in Sugar House. The pictures looked enticing and the ratings were pretty good, so we decided to give it a try. I’ll share the pros first and then some minor cons. The food was awesome. It was different but familiar all at once. This restaurant puts a nice twist on their food that I think gives them a leg up over others area Mexican restaurants. They have all sorts of caned or bottled beverages to select from, including adult beverages. They also have a soda fountain. Free refills, yay! The place was clean. Service was perfect. The atmosphere inside is rather cool, but small. There is a large, outdoor courtyard that would be great to sit at in warmer months. When you enter, there are kiosks to the right that are rather intuitive. I like that. You don’t have to wait to order your food since you do it on entry (they also have a scannable QR code you can utilize to order your meal). Lol, but I somehow messed up the order by ordering an extra meal and paying for it. The staff cought onto it before they prepared it and asked me if that was intentional. They fixed my error and voided the extra charge even though we had already paid. Now some cons to consider. First off, I felt dumb because I couldn’t figure out where to enter the place. There was a door with an open sign next to it, but the outdoor courtyard had a 3 foot tall rod iron fence all the way around it. From the outside it was difficult to spy a gate. I finally found it. The gate had a latch on the inside that was hard to see. Once we opened it we then entered the establishment. A good fix would be to add a sign that says “ENTER HERE” to the outside of the gate. A second con: the overflow seating in place right now is outside the building in an interior hallway. It felt kind of exposed and sterile. Some well placed, fake plants or trees would mitigate that a bit. To be honest, the food is well worth sitting in the hallway if inside seating is not availble. That’s all I have for cons. They are minor and would not keep me from going back. We loved the food, the plating, and the quick delivery. You should give De Los Muertos a try. I especially recommend the El Gordito Guapo Birria Taco Combo Plate.
