The owner/manager is a piece of work. Let’s start this off right, we have eaten here a lot, and the wait staff and busser have always been the amazing. Kudos to them. We now have a baby who just turned one and the staff love him they watched him grow over the past year he is pretty much always a happy baby. Yes babies make messes, but when he does, we tipped accordingly for the troubles. The issue seems to be the owner of the place recently our son has started squealing when he gets excited yea he’s loud we don’t just let him scream uncontrollably normally is 3 seconds squeal and he’s done he will do it maybe 2 or 3 times during his meal, he likes pancakes. The restaurant was empty today only one other party while my wife and her dad went out for breakfast, the owner went over to my wife and reprimanded her saying my happy little boy needed to keep it down. Then, she proceeded to make discussed faces at my father-in-law and wife while they finished their meal. I don’t think we will be back anytime soon. Apparently, family-friendly doesn’t apply if the owner doesn’t want it to. I wish google has more categories for rating to seperate out the good and bad. Just go to Southern Bells in Yorkville they are very family friendly.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy skillet, and it blew my mind. The best breakfast for lunch I’ve ever had. The staff were super welcoming. Highly recommend .

The food is made by hand, served quickly and by friendly wait staff. I had chicken noodle soup as part of my meal and it was very tasty! I found out the man who Cook’s gets there every morning at 4am to get the soups and other foods prepared.

I wanted to love this place. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon because I’ve read good reviews and heard good things on Facebook before. Admittedly we stopped in at 2:15, they close at 3:00. It was obvious the staff was prepping to close at 3:00. They didn’t rush us but I could tell they really wanted to close right at 3:00. I don’t go out of my way to complain at a restaurant and I certainly don’t expect a discount from my bill to I didn’t voice my thoughts on the food as I wasn’t asked how the food was. If asked I would have explained my feelings but I wasn’t asked. I was asked how we were doing while we were eating but not asked how the food was, not even when I paid the bill. Most places I’ve been to, especially family run restaurants, always ask on checkout how everything was.

The food was good, service was quick. Our server was very nice. Been here quite a few times and my wife and I always love it. It’s only ever costs up about 20 dollars and it’s always great. The beef noodle soup is very good.
