The food is fairly decent. However, you will wait an eternity to get your food in the lobby and if you are in the drive through, you may be waiting behind someone who ordered 30 items when you’ve only ordered 2. Instead of them, bringing the 2 items out to you, You will wait unless you get out of your car as I did, to go inside to retrieve your 2 items then leave.

We got the boiled shrimp. We called the order in. When we got there, the order had not been put in yet. So we waited. When we got our food, it wasn’t as good as it used to be. They are expensive so mediocre food shouldn’t be expensive.

I love the fish, mushrooms, boudin balls, cracklin, and pickles. The crawfish is very good, but not purged well enough. Some of them are still very gritty, and it takes away from the great seasoning. Please soak crawfish longer, and they will be spot on.

Terrible crawfish! No flavor, waterlogged and awful texture. Same with the shrimp…absolutely no flavor. There’s also jalapeños in the boil which gives the corn a horrible flavor. Who puts jalapeños in a crawfish boil?! Really awful place all around.

We drive through Alexandria about once a year and always stop at De barge’s Crawfish. This year we had the fried combo, 5 fish and 5 shrimp, plus 2 pepper jack boudin balls to share. This was way too much food since we didn’t have a fridge (RV) for leftovers. The fish was excellent, the shrimp were good, but a little small, the French fries were good, the fried jalapenos were excellent, the boudin balls were good, but not as good as we remember them. We should have just got 1 boudin balls because they were huge. As much as we hate to do it, he had to throw away some french fries and a few fried jalapenos. We ate at the Alexandria Parks and Recreation Park, which was beautiful. The azaleas were in bloom, the trees were blooming out, lots of Robins and squirrels. It was just a gorgeous day, temperature about 75 degrees and sunny. Everything was good.

We bought 2 15 shrimp platters fried pickles, 2 potatoes, and 4 bread puddings through their drive thru. With such a big order I thought they’d take forever but we were heading home in less than 15 minutes. The food was well cooked and delicious and was enough to feed all 4 of us with plenty left over.
